Surface Duo อุปกรณ์มือถือจอพับของไมโครซอฟท์ที่หลายคนลืมชื่อไปแล้ว กำลังจะได้อัพเดตระบบปฏิบัติการเป็น Android 12L ตามที่ไมโครซอฟท์สัญญาไว้ตั้งแต่เดือนมีนาคม 2022 (ได้อัพเดตพร้อมกันทั้ง Surface Duo 1 และ Surface Duo 2)

ของใหม่ที่เพิ่มเข้ามาคือ ระบบธีมแบบไดนามิกของ Android 12, การจัดการหน้าจอใหญ่ที่ดีขึ้นของ Android 12L, หน้าตาธีม ไอคอน ภาพพื้นหลังชุดใหม่ ที่ปรับให้คล้าย Windows 11 มากขึ้น และฟีเจอร์การกดปุ่มที่ปากกา Surface Slim Pen 2 แล้วเรียกเมนูช็อตคัตของแอพปากกาขึ้นมาบนหน้าจอ

Surface Duo ถือเป็นอุปกรณ์ที่ไม่ได้รับความสนใจจากไมโครซอฟท์เท่าไรนัก และถูกวิจารณ์เรื่องการออกอัพเดตที่ล่าช้ามาตลอด และถ้าเทียบกับจักรวาลของไมโครซอฟท์เอง Windows Subsystem for Android ได้ Android 12L ตั้งแต่เดือนพฤษภาคม และกำลังจะได้อัพเดตเป็น Android 13

ใช้ Duo2 อยู่จากที่อัพมา มีบัคเล็กน้อยว่าตอนปัดขึ้นแล้วบางทีแอปลอยอยู่กลางหน้าจอและยังทำงานอยู่ บางจังหวะอนิเมชั่นมันดูหน่วง ๆ บ้าง แต่โดยรวมก็ยังทำงานปรกติ

โชคดี ที่วันนั้นไม่ได้ไปถอยมา เพราะดูเหมือนเป็นลูกที่ถูกทอดทิ้งยังไงก็ไม่รู้

เท่าที่คิดดู (แบบอาจจะเข้าข้างตัวเอง) WSL น่าจะอัปเดตได้ก่อนอยู่แล้ว (มั้ง) ครับ
คือ WSL มันไม่มี UI ในส่วน setting ไม่มี notification center และ UI อื่นๆ ที่ต้อง customize ค่อนข้างไปทางทำตัว core มากกว่า
ส่วน Duo คือทำตัว core นี้เหมือนกัน (อาจจะใช้ทีมร่วมกันด้วย?) แต่ต้องทำ UI ต่างๆ เพิ่มขึ้นมา กับ step สุดท้ายที่เห็นบอกกันว่านาน (แต่ผมว่าคงไม่นานขนาดนั้นหรอกมั้ง) คือต้องให้ Google อนุมัติด้วย

คิดเข้าข้างให้สุดๆ 😅
