จาก รายชื่อรุ่นที่จะได้อัพเกรด Oreo จากโมโตโรลา เมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อน หลายคนที่เป็นเจ้าของ Moto G4 / G4 Plus อาจรู้สึกผิดหวังกันไปบ้าง เนื่องจากในตอนแรกทางโมโตโรลาเอง เคยประกาศไว้เองว่า ตระกูล G4 จะได้รับอัพเกรดถึง Android O อย่างแน่นอน

และอาจจะด้วยจากการทักท้วงของกลุ่มผู้ใช้ Moto G4 ในเว็บ reddit ล่าสุดทางโมโตโรลาได้ออกมาประกาศแล้วว่าเป็นความผิดพลาดทางการตลาด และจะอัพเกรด Android Oreo ให้แก่ Moto G4 plus (แต่ไม่ได้พูดถึง Moto G4 แต่อย่างใด) รวมถึงไม่ได้ยืนยันด้วยว่าการอัพเกรดที่ว่านี้จะเกิดขึ้นเมื่อไหร่
ก็ได้แต่หวังว่าผู้ใช้ Moto G4 Plus จะไม่ต้องรอกันนานเหมือนกรณีของ Nougat สำหรับ Moto X Pure Edition แล้วกันนะครับ :P

It’s our general practice for the Moto G family to get one major OS upgrade per device, but it’s important to us we keep our promises, so in addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading Moto G4 Plus to Android O. Because this is an unplanned upgrade, it will take some time to fit it into our upgrade schedule. Watch our software upgrade page for more information."
