แหม่ คิดถึงจังคอมเครื่องแรกในชีวิต Win 95 Pentium 150 Ram 16 MB

เอ่อ เดี๋ยวนะ เรามาถึงจุดนี้ได้ไง คอมปัจจุบัน Pentium G3258 แรม 16 GB

20 ปีผ่านไป ก็ยังใช้ Pentium

โหดจริงๆ TT อยากทำได้แบบเค้ามั่ง 555+

ไม่น่าจะเรียกว่าพอร์ท Windows 95 มานะครับ

สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นคือ

• Windows 95 ถูกจำลองการทำงาน (emulate) อยู่บน DOSBox
• DOSBox ถูกคอมไพล์ด้วย emscripten ให้เป็น JavaScript
• ตัวเบราว์เซอร์รัน JavaScript

เรียกว่าพอร์ท DOSBox มาบน JavaScript น่าจะตรงกว่า https://github.com/dreamlayers/em-dosbox

Windows 95 แค่เป็นตัวอย่างที่รันบน DOSBox ที่พอร์ทมาอีกทีหนึ่ง (จะรัน OS อย่างอื่นที่ DOSBox รองรับก็ได้)

และถ้าอ้างอิงตามนี้ สิ่งที่เค้าทำจริงๆ คือลง Windows 95 บน DOSBox ปรับตั้งและแพคมันด้วย Em-DOSBox แล้วจับลงเว็บครับ

"How was this done?

I installed Windows 95 in DOSBox using this guide from a virtualised CD, then packaged up the disk image, along with an AUTOEXEC.BAT file and a custom dosbox.conf using Em-DOSBox. Really, all the hard work was done by the Emscripten, DOSBox and Em-DOSBox people. And, of course, the browser vendors and other people who have worked tirelessly to make the modern web platform what it is today. In the process of making this, I never once had to touch the DOSBox source code!"
