The Game Awards งานประกาศรางวัลแห่งวงการเกม เริ่มเปิดให้โหวตเกมที่เข้าชิงรางวัลในสาขาต่างๆ แล้ว ก่อนจะประกาศผลในวันที่ 9 ธันวาคม 2021 แบบมีคนดูจริงๆ พร้อมกับถ่ายทอดสดจาก Microsoft Theater

ปีนี้เงียบเหงาเล็กน้อย ไม่ได้มีเกมฟอร์มยักษ์ปะทะกันหนักๆ แบบปีก่อนๆ เกมที่เข้าชิงพร้อมกันหลายสาขามีทั้ง Resident Evil Village, Deathloop และ Psychonauts 2 รายชื่อเกมที่เข้าชิงในสาขาที่เด่นๆ มีดังนี้
