Raspberry Pi OS ออกรุ่นอัพเดทสิ้นปีตามธรรมเนียม โดยมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงรุ่นของบราวเซอร์ ปรับปรุงประสิทธิภาพการประชุมออนไลน์ ปรับปรุงการรองรับเครื่องพิมพ์ ปรับปรุงการอ่านหน้าจอสำหรับผู้พิการทางสายตาและเพิ่มการรองรับฮาร์ดแวร์ใหม่ ๆ ผู้สนใจสามารถดาวน์โหลดอิมเมจใหม่ได้จากหน้าดาวน์โหลด หรืออัพเดทได้ทันทีด้วยคำสั่ง sudo apt full-upgrade สำหรับรายละเอียดการเปลี่ยนแปลงต่าง ๆ มีดังนี้

  1. อัพเกรด Chromium เป็นรุ่น 84 พร้อมรองรับการเร่งการประมวลผลวิดีโอด้วยฮาร์ดแวร์ ทำให้การเล่นวิดีโอบน YouTube ลื่นไหลยิ่งขึ้น และจากสถานการณ์ COVID-19 ทีมพัฒนายังได้ทดสอบและปรับปรุงประสิทธิภาพการประชุมออนไลน์ผ่าน Google Meet, Microsoft Teams และ Zoom บน Chromium ใน Raspberry Pi เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการการใช้งานในช่วงนี้
  2. เปลี่ยนซอฟต์แวร์ควบคุมระบบเสียงมา__ใช้ Pulse Audio แทน ALSA__ ทำให้สามารถรองรับการเล่นเสียงพร้อมกันจากหลายซอฟต์แวร์และรองรับการสลับอุปกรณ์เอาต์พุตในขณะเล่นเสียงโดยไม่ต้องรอเล่นจบ การเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ยังช่วยให้ระบบรองรับอุปกรณ์ระบบเสียงแบบบลูทูธได้เสถียรยิ่งขึ้นโดยไม่ต้องพึ่งพาไลบารี่ภายนอกเพิ่มเติม
  3. ติดตั้งแพ็กเกจ CUPS และ system-config-printer มาให้เพื่อ__รองรับการเชื่อมต่อเครื่องพิมพ์พร้อมหน้าต่างตั้งค่าอย่างง่าย__

  1. __ปรับปรุงการรองรับการอ่านหน้าจอ__ด้วย Orca screen reader สำหรับผู้พิการทางสายตาในเมนู Raspberry Pi Configuration และ Appearance Settings และเพิ่มคีย์ลัดในการติดตั้ง Orca เพียงกดปุ่ม Ctrl + Alt + Space Bar โดยหากจำคีย์ลัดไม่ได้ระบบจะพูดคีย์ลัดให้ฟังหากไม่มีการเคลื่อนไหวภายใน 30 วินาทีหลังจากบูตอิมเมจในครั้งแรก นอกจากนี้การเปลี่ยนมาใช้ Pulse Audio ยังทำให้ระบบรองรับการอ่านหน้าจอออกทางหูฟังหรือลำโพงบลูทูธ
  2. เพิ่มการตั้งค่าหลอดไฟ LED ในบอร์ดที่มีหลอดไฟดวงเดียวเช่น Raspberry Pi Zero หรือ Raspberry Pi 400 ระหว่างให้ติดค้างขณะเปิดเครื่องเท่านั้นหรือให้กระพริบตามการใช้งานเขียน-อ่านดิสก์

  1. เพิ่มการ__รองรับชุดระบายความร้อน Raspberry Pi 4 Case Fan__ (ข่าวเก่า) โดยสามารถเปิด-ปิดพัดลม เลือกขา GPIO สำหรับควบคุมความเร็วพัดลมและตั้งค่าอุณหภูมิที่ต้องการให้พัดลมเริ่มทำงานได้
