ในงานประกาศรางวัล The Game Awards ปีนี้ เกม Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice เกมจักรวาลซามูไร คว้ารางวัลใหญ่เกมแห่งปีหรือ Game of the Year ไปครอง เรียกเสียงเซอร์ไพรส์เพราะสามารถโค่นเกมดังอย่าง Death Stranding, Control, Outer Worlds, Resident Evil 2 และ Super Smash Bros ไปได้

นอกจากนี้ยังคว้ารางวัล Best Action/Adventure Game ได้อีกด้วย
