Seagate เปิดตัว SSD ขนาดใหญ่ถึง 60TB ในไดรฟ์ขนาด 3.5 นิ้วมาตรฐาน

Seagate โชว์ SSD ใหม่ 2 รุ่นสำหรับลูกค้ากลุ่มองค์กร เน้นการใช้งานในศูนย์ข้อมูล ได้แก่

SSD อินเทอร์เฟซแบบ SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) ความจุ 60TB ซึ่งถือเป็น SSD ที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดในปัจจุบัน มาในขนาดไดรฟ์ 3.5 นิ้วมาตรฐาน บริษัทบอกว่าการมาถึงของ SSD ความจุมากขนาดนี้ ทำให้ไม่ต้องแยกระดับชั้นข้อมูลเป็นข้อมูลที่ใช้บ่อย (hot data) และข้อมูลที่นานๆ ใช้ที (cold data) เพื่อใช้กับสตอเรจแต่ละประเภทอีกต่อไป

SSD ความจุ 60TB จะวางขายในปีหน้า 2017 และในอนาคต Seagate จะผลักดันความจุของ SSD ไปให้ถึง 100TB ในไดรฟ์ตัวเดียว

SSD รุ่น Nytro XP7200 แบบ NVMe การ์ดแฟลชความจุ 8TB (ใช้เทคโนโลยีเดียวกับตัวก่อนหน้านี้ที่เป็นอินเทอร์เฟซแบบ M.2 จุ 2TB) ออกแบบมาสำหรับองค์กรที่ต้องการเข้าถึงข้อมูลอย่างรวดเร็ว เช่น งานประเภท big data โดยนำ SSD มาเสียบเพิ่มผ่านพอร์ต PCIe ที่เข้าถึงข้อมูลได้เร็วกว่าไดรฟ์แบบดั้งเดิม (ความเร็ว 10 Gbps) ตัวนี้จะวางขายไตรมาสที่ 4 ของปี 2016

100TB ราคาสักหมื่นนึง กว่าจะมานี่อีกกี่ปีหนอ? :v

จากที่ลองหาข้อมูลเรื่องSSDจากเว็บนอก อันนี้ผมสงสัยนะครับ(ถ้ามีท่านใดตอบได้ช่วยอธิบายหน่อย)

ทำไมพอใช้ Harddisk จาก Slot Pci-e 3.0 ถึงเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพของตัวPCอีก10-20เปอร์เซ็นได้ครับ?

ราคาต่อความจุน่าจะอีกนานพอตัวเลย อีกอย่าง มันมีงานและการเก็บข้อมูลที่ HDD ทำได้ดีในราคาต่ำมากๆ อยู่ คือความทนทานนี่อาจจะถกเถียงกันได้ แต่ราคาต่อหน่วยนี่น่าจะสัก 10 ปีค่อยคุยกันอีกรอบนึง
