Pandora อาจเลิกกิจการเพราะจ่ายค่าลิขสิทธิ์ไม่ไหว

เว็บไซต์ Pandora ซึ่งเป็นสถานีวิทยุออนไลน์ (ให้บริการเฉพาะในสหรัฐเท่านั้น) อาจต้องปิดกิจการตัวเอง เนื่องจากไม่สามารถจ่ายค่าลิขสิทธิ์ของเพลงที่นำมาเปิดได้

สถานีวิทยุปกตินั้นไม่เสียค่าลิขสิทธิ์ ส่วนสถานีวิทยุผ่านดาวเทียมจะเสียในอัตรา 1.6 เซ็นต์ต่อชั่วโมงต่อผู้ฟังหนึ่งคน ส่วน Pandora และสถานีวิทยุออนไลน์อื่นๆ จะเสียในอัตรา 2.91 เซ็นต์ในปี 2010 เหตุผลที่เสียเยอะกว่าเป็นเพราะ Pandora มีอำนาจต่อรองกับทางค่ายเพลงน้อย

Pandora ให้ข้อมูลว่าจ่ายค่าลิขสิทธิ์ไปแล้ว 70% ของเงินลงทุนที่ได้รับมา 25 ล้านดอลลาร์ และสถานการณ์ของสถานีวิทยุออนไลน์อื่นๆ (เช่น Last.fm และ iMeem) นั้นแย่กว่านี้

ในไทยการเผยแพร่บทเพลงต่างๆ ก็ต้องขอสิทธ์เผยแพร่ครับ
ส่วนว่าต้องจ่ายค่าลิขสิทธ์หรือเปล่าก็แล้วแต่ตกลงกันกับค่ายเพลงครับ

อย่างที่ผมทำอยู่ songburi.com นั้น บทเพลงทุกเพลงที่เผยแพร่ใน Website ต้องมีเอกสาร
ให้อนุญาตสิทธ์ดังกล่าวระยะแรก เหนื่อยครับ เพราะต้องพิสูจน์ตัวเองกับค่ายเพลง

ระยะหลังก็สะดวกขึ้นครับ

ยังไงก็อยากให้เคารพสิทธ์ของศิลปินนะครับ เมืองไทยถ้าไม่เริ่มทำความเข้าใจและไม่คิดจะปฎิบัติ

ที่อื่นปิดกัน แต่ที่นี่ไม่ปิด เพราะเพิ่งเปิดเอง ฟังเพลงออนไลน์เหมือนกัน แต่เปิดให้บริการในไทย ที่สำคัญ เิปิด 24 ชั่วโมง และไม่มีเสียงดีเจด้วย
