Google Now บนพีซี อาจไม่ได้มาแค่ใน Chrome แต่จะมาบนหน้าเว็บหลักของ Google

ก่อนหน้านี้มีการเก็งกันไว้ว่าเราอาจได้เห็น Google Now บนเครื่องพีซี โดยเรียกใช้งานผ่าน Chrome แต่ล่าสุดดูเหมือนว่า Google อาจเพิ่ม Google Now เข้าเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในหน้าเว็บหลักของตนเองด้วย

เบาะแสเรื่องนี้มาจากการค้นพบโค้ดบางส่วนในหน้าเว็บของ Google มีการกล่าวถึงฟีเจอร์ผู้ช่วยส่วนตัวอย่าง Google Now โดยมันจะถูกตั้งค่าให้เป็นฟีเจอร์เสริมสำหรับการค้นหาข้อมูลใดๆ ซึ่งผู้ใช้สามารถเลือกที่จะเปิดหรือปิดการใช้งานฟีเจอร์ได้ ทั้งนี้ข้อความที่ปรากฎในโค้ดดังกล่าวมีคำบรรยายที่ชัดเจนว่า Google Now จะอาศัยข้อมูลตำแหน่งของผู้ใช้งานในขณะนั้น เพื่อเลือกแสดงผลข้อมูลที่สัมพันธ์กับสถานที่นั้น เช่น สภาพภูมิอากาศ, สภาพการจราจร และสถานที่ใกล้เคียง เป็นต้น

หาก Google ตัดสินใจนำฟีเจอร์นี้มาไว้ที่หน้าเว็บหลัก นั่นหมายความว่า ไม่ว่าผู้ใช้จะเข้าสู่เว็บ Google ด้วยโปรแกรมเว็บเบราว์เซอร์ใดก็ตามย่อมสามารถเข้าถึงฟีเจอร์ดังกล่าวได้ไม่แตกต่างกัน

อันนี้ผมลองลงใช้งานดูแล้วเหมือนกันคับ (เจอตอนหาข่าวนี้นี่ล่ะคับ)
หน้าตาทำออกมาเหมือน แต่เอาจริงๆ มันก็ยังขาด "ความฉลาด" อย่างที่ Google Now บน Android มีนะคับ

ผมเข้าใจว่า ของจริง มันจะดึงข้อมูลจาก gmail ของบัญชีที่ล็อกอินเครื่องอยู่ได้ด้วย, ค้นหาข้อมูลเส้นทางต่างๆ, เช็คกำหนดนัดหมาย, หาคำตอบให้กับคำถามแปลกๆ ได้จากการค้นหา (โดยผู้ใช้ไม่ต้องมาใส่คีย์เวิร์ดในการค้นหาเองนะครับ)

คืออยากถามหน่อยครับว่า Google Now มันสามารถทำอะไรได้มากกว่านี้ไหมครับ เพราะผมเอาไว้ดูอุณหภูมิกับเส้นทางกลับบ้าน แค่นั้นอะครับ

บอกรอบหนัง เวลาอยู่ใกล้โรงหนัง
บอกสายรถเมล์/รถไฟ เวลาอยู่ใกล้ป้ายรถเมล์/สถานีรถไฟ (โดยเฉพาะในต่างประเทศที่ระบบขนส่งมวลชนดีๆ)
บอก/คำนวณอัตราแลกเปลี่ยน เวลาอยู่ต่างประเทศ

ผมไม่เคยสัมผัสจริงนะครับ

แต่เท่าที่เคยตามข่าว Google Now สามารถ

  • แสดงผลสภาพอากาศในพื้นที่ของผู้ใช้
  • แสดงสภาพการจราจร
  • รายงานผลการแข่งกีฬา, ราคาหุ้น, รอบฉายของหนัง ฯลฯ
  • ตอบคำถามทั่วไปเกี่ยวกับบุคคลที่มีชื่อเสียง โดยการค้นหาข้อมูลจากอินเทอร์เน็ตมาแสดงผล ตัวอย่างเช่น คำถามว่า "How tall is Kobe Bryant?", "Who was the fifth President of the United States?", Show me a picture of Chris Pirillo
  • มีฟีเจอร์ TTS คือรับการสั่งงานด้วยเสียง เพื่อโทรออก, ส่งข้อความ, ค้นหาข้อมูล ฯลฯ
  • ใช้แทนตั๋ว boarding pass
