กูเกิลเปิดโครงการพลังงานทดแทนเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อม

กูเกิลเกาะกระแสพลังงานทดแทนที่กำลังได้รับความสนใจเป็นอย่างสูงในช่วงหลัง ด้วยการเปิดตัวโครงการ RE<C หรือ Renewable energy is cheaper than coal. (พลังงานสะอาดถูกกว่าถ่านหิน) โครงการนี้เป็นการร่วมมือระหว่างกูเกิลเอง และบริษัทพันธมิตร ที่จะร่วมมือกันวิจัยและพัฒนาแหล่งพลังงานสะอาดที่มีกำลังผลิต 1 กิกะวัตต์และมีต้นทุนต่ำกว่าพลังงานถ่านหิน

การร่วมมือนี้ไม่ใช่ไม่ได้หยุดแค่การประกาศพันธมิตรกับบริษัทพลังงานเท่านั้น แต่ทางกูเกิลยังได้เปิดแผนกวิจัยขึ้นมาโดยตรง และกำลังรับสมัครพนักงานในตำแหน่งต่างๆ อยู่แล้วในตอนนี้

ก่อนหน้านี้กูเกิลเป็นบริษัทไอทีที่ให้ความสนใจในเรื่องของพลังงานมากเป็นพิเศษ โดยมีการติดตั้งแผงเซลล์แสงอาทิตย์ทั่วบริเวณ Googleplex ไปก่อนหน้านี้แล้ว ซึ่งนับว่าไม่ใช่เรื่องน่าแปลกใจเท่าใดนัก เพราะพลังงานก็เป็นหนึ่งในต้นทุนหลักของทางกูเกิลอยู่แล้ว

ประเทศที่ใช้พลังงานแสงอาทิตย์เรียงตามลำดับ

  1. เยอรมัน 1429 MW 38.6% แดดน้อย (คุ้มไหมวะ)
  2. ญี่ปุ่น 1422 MW 38.4% (จ่ายค่าใช้จ่ายให้ครึ่งนึงสำหรับบ้านที่ติดตั้ง)
  3. USA 479 MW 12.8%
  4. สเปน 1.6%
  5. ออสเตรเลีย 60 MW 1.6% (M. Green เป็นเจ้าพ่อ แต่ประเทศตัวเองใช้น้อยมาก) แดดมาก ๆ
  6. เนเธอร์แลนด์ 1.4%

ส่วนประเทศไทยได้รับแสงแดดไม่ติดกลุ่มประเทศที่ได้รับแสงแดดมาก น้อยกว่ามาเลเซีย สิงคโปร์ และมีแนวโน้นน้อยสำหรับพลังงานประเภทนี้

คอมเมนต์ตอนท้ายอ่านแล้วหงุดหงิดชะมัด สงสัยยังหาวิธีงาบไม่อิ่มพอ ของแพงอยู่แล้วแถมงาบเข้าไปอีกจะยิ่งแพงใหญ่ เลยไม่คิดที่จะใช้พลังทดแทนมันซะเลย
