SCB 10X เปิดตัวโมเดลภาษาตระกูล Typhoon Isan ที่ออกแบบมาเพื่อถอดเสียงพูดภาษาอีสานโดยเฉพาะ

Typhoon Isan ASR เป็นโมเดลถอดเสียงเป็นตัวอักษร (Automatic Speech Recognition) ที่พยายามแก้ปัญหาเรื่องภาษาถิ่นของประเทศไทย ซึ่งยังไม่มีการจัดเก็บข้อมูลในระบบดิจิทัลมากนัก เมื่อผู้พูดใช้ภาษาถิ่น โมเดลในปัจจุบันจึงถอดเสียงผิดเพี้ยน ทำให้ทีมพัฒนาของ SCB 10X เลือกภาษาอีสานที่มีคนพูด 20 ล้านคน คิดเป็น 1/3 ของประชากร มาเป็นภาษาแรก

ทีมพัฒนายังเตรียมออก Typhoon Isan TTS (Text-to-Speech) โมเดลแปลงข้อความเป็นเสียงพูดภาษาอีสาน และปล่อยชุดข้อมูลภาษาอีสานเป็นข้อมูลเปิด (open data) ต่อสาธารณะ

แม้จะมีคนพูด 20 ล้านคน แต่มีหลายสำเนียง
และภาษาอีสาน ถูกกำหนดให้ไม่มีตัวอักษร โดยให้ใช้อักษรภาษากลางในการเขียน จะเรียกว่าภาษาคาราโอเกะก็ได้ เพราะเขียนอย่างหนึ่ง จะต้องอ่านออกเสียงอย่างหนึ่ง เช่นระดับเสียงวรรณยุกต์จะไม่ตรงกับภาษาไทยกลาง ก็ถือว่าเป็นเรื่องที่ท้านทายพอสมควร

จากเสียงในคลิป พบว่าสำเนียงที่พูด ค่อนไปทางประเทศลาว มากกว่าภาษาอีสานกลางที่คนอีสานส่วนใหญ่ใช้กันครับ แม้แต่คำที่ใช้ หลายคำ คนอีสานก็ไม่นิยมใช้กันแล้ว เช่น "ฮ่วนกันสร้าง" ปัจจุบันก็นิยมพูด "ล่วมกันสร้าง" ที่ไม่ออกเสียง รอ กันเป็นส่วนใหญ่

สำเนียงจากในคลิป แม้จะมีคนอีสานบางพื้นที่พูดกัน แต่ก็ยังห่างจากภาษาสำเนียงอีสานกลางพอสมควรครับ

แต่โดยส่วนตัวผมก็ประทับใจแหละ ทำออกมาได้ขนาดนี้สุดยอดเลย

ฟังแล้วถ้าจะบอกว่าเหมือน ก็คงเหมือนลาวใต้มากกว่าครับ ซึ่งผมคิดว่าสำเนียงลาวใต้ก็ใกล้เคียงกับอีสานมาแต่ไหนแต่ไรแล้ว แต่คนละเรื่องกับลาวภาคกลาง (เช่น เวียงจันทน์) หรือลาวภาคเหนือ (หลวงพระบางขึ้นไปด้านบน)

อนึ่ง คนที่พูดสำเนียงลาวใต้จะดัดสำเนียงให้พูดคล้าย หรือเหมือนสำเนียงอีสาน (โดยทั่วไป) ได้ง่ายกว่าคนที่พูดสำเนียงเวียงจันทน์ หรือหลวงพระบางครับ เพราะสองแบบหลังนี้ ให้ไปพูดสำเนียงลาวใต้ยังยากเลย
