ปัจจุบันสมาร์ททีวีสามารถเชื่อมต่อมือถือได้ และหากจะเชื่อมต่อคอมพิวเตอร์ต้องใช้สายต่อ แต่ในอนาคตจะเชื่อมต่อ PC, แลปทอป แบบไร้สายได้ โดยซัมซุงเผยเทคโนโลยีใหม่ผ่านบล็อกว่าในปี 2019 เตรียมเพิ่มฟีเจอร์ Remote Access ในทีวีซัมซุง เป็นการเชื่อมต่อไร้สายไปยัง PC หรือแม้แต่คอมพิวเตอร์เสมือนบนคลาวด์

ฟีเจอร์ใหม่เปิดทางให้ผู้ใช้ต่อแป้นพิมพ์และเมาส์เข้ากับทีวี แล้วควบคุมคอมพิวเตอร์ควบคุมพีซีได้จากระยะไกลไม่ว่าจะเป็นพีซีในบ้านหรือบริการบนคลาวด์ ที่ใช้เทคโนโลยี VMware Horizon

ด้านความปลอดภัย ซัมซุงระบุว่าใช้ระบบ Knox หรือเฟรมเวิร์ครักษาความปลอดภัยของซัมซุงซึ่งฝังลงมาในสมาร์ททีวีตั้งแต่ปี 2015

เดี๋ยวนะครับ อันนี้คือเป็นฟีเจอร์ที่ให้ใช้คอมควบคุมทีวีแทนรีโมทไม่ใช่เหรอ (และมีฟีเจอร์พวก screen sharing ด้วย)
พอเขียนว่าไม่ง้อ HDMI นี่ทำให้เข้าใจผิดกันหมดเลยว่าหมายถึงการต่อทีวีเพื่อเป็นจอมอนิเตอร์แบบไร้สาย

ส่วนการใช้ทีวีซัมซุงเป็น wireless display ผ่าน WiFi นี่ทำได้มานานแล้วนะ (ถึงจะประสิทธิภาพไม่เท่า HDMI ก็เถอะ)

เอ่อ น่าจะเข้าใจผิดอะไรซักอย่างละ เทคโนโลยี wireless display มีมานานแล้วครับ ผมก็ใช้อยู่ทุกวันนะ เทคโนโลยีเดียวกับที่ สส. เผลอเอาวีดีโอโป๊แคสขึ้นจอทีวีกลางสภานั่นแหละ

The Remote Access feature will provide enhanced wireless connectivity with PCs, tablets, and smartphones – allowing consumers to remotely control compatible programs and apps through their Samsung Smart TV.

Remote Access allows users to directly control their devices connected to a TV with a keyboard and mouse in addition to simply displaying the content on a larger screen. Additionally, web browser-based cloud office service can be accessed through Remote Access, so users can now access files and work on documents from their Smart TVs.

“Samsung is committed to creating an intuitive and convenient user experience for consumers. With Remote Access, consumers will be able to easily access various programs, apps and cloud services installed on multiple connected devices directly through their TV screen,”

Remote Access can be used anywhere in the world thanks to VMware Horizon, a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution that Samsung and its partner VMware, a leading innovator in enterprise software, provide to consumers.

Remote Access ทำให้คนใช้งานทีวีสามารถ remote เข้าไปใช้งาน program/app ที่อยู่ใน PC หรืออุปกรณ์อื่นๆ ได้ โดยใช้เทคโนโลยี VDI ของทาง VMware (แนวๆเดียวกับ Citrix) และเข้าถึงตัวไฟล์ หรือ doc ต่างๆ ผ่าน web browser-based service ซึ่งทั้งหมดนี้เกิดขึ้นผ่าน wireless และ ทิศทางการ control เกิดจากทางทีวี เข้าไปยังอุปกรณ์ปลายทาง ไม่ใช่ตรงกันข้าม

และ Remote Access ที่ว่านี้ไม่ใช่การ cast แบบพวก WiDi/Miracast/DLNA
