กูเกิลเตรียมเปิด Translate API แบบเสียเงิน

ข่าวต่อเนื่องจาก กูเกิลประกาศปิด API ที่คนใช้น้อยหลายตัว ซึ่งหนึ่งในนั้นมี Translate API ที่มีคนใช้อยู่จำนวนหนึ่ง คนกลุ่มนี้ได้เรียกร้องไปยังกูเกิลให้คง Translate API เอาไว้ และวันนี้กูเกิลตอบมาแล้วว่า จะเปลี่ยนมันเป็นเวอร์ชันเสียเงินแทน

กูเกิลให้เหตุผลของการปิด Translate API ว่าเป็นเพราะตัว API ถูกใช้งานในทางที่ผิดเงื่อนไขการใช้งานมาก (กูเกิลไม่ได้ปิด Google Translate นะครับ ปิดเฉพาะตัว API) ดังนั้นการเปิด Translate API เป็นแบบเสียเงิน น่าจะเป็นการพบกันครึ่งทางระหว่างกูเกิลกับผู้ที่ใช้งาน API ตัวนี้จริงๆ เพราะน่าจะลดปริมาณการใช้งานในทางที่ผิดไปได้มาก

เห็นซอฟต์แวร์ตัวหนึ่ง ใช้ API ของกูเกิล แต่คิดตังค์ค่าบริการครับ (เวอร์ชันฟรีก็มี) ผมก็ใช้อยู่ครับ ชื่อ Client for Google Translate

แต่ผมก็ไม่รู้ว่าแบบนี้ผิดเงื่อนไขของกูเกิลหรือเปล่านะครับ เพียงเห็นว่าเขามีบริการแบบคิดเงินโดยใช้ API ของกูเกิล

ผมใช้ Client for Google Translate อยู่เป็นโปรแกรมแปลข้อความผ่าน Google API แต่โปรแกรมนี้เก็บเงินจากผู้ใช้ (แบบ Pro) ต่อจากนี้เจ้าของโปรแกรมคงต้องจ่ายให้ Google ละ ถ้าอยากอยู่ต่อ ใช้ดีมากโปรแกรมตัวนี้
