ตอนนี้ผมกำลังทดลองติดตั้ง RocksCluster โดย Download V5.2 มาติดตั้งครับ
ผมสามารถติดตั้ง Front end Node ได้แล้ว และจะติดตั้ง Compute Node
ปัญหาคือ ผมไม่สามารถติดตั้ง Compute Node ได้เสร็จครับ
พอผม run insert-ethers ที่ Front End และใส่แผ่นDVD เพื่อลงโปรแกรมที่ Compute
มันก็ทำงานจนเจอ Node (*) และให้เลือก ภาษา Keyborad และให้เลือก CD ROM
แต่ทำไมมันบอกว่า CD Not found ให้ใส่แผ่น Rock ลงไป
ทั้งๆที่แผ่นก็ถูกต้อง
รบกวนช่วยแก้ปัญหานี้ให้หน่อยครับ เพื่อที่ผมจะได้สามารถลงโปรแกรมได้สำเร็จครับ

ผมยังไม่เคยเล่น 5.2 แต่คิดว่าก็คงไม่ต่างจาก 5 เท่าไหร่
ผมไม่ทราบว่าปัญหาเกิดจากอะไร และผมก็ไม่เคยเจอปัญหานี้ แปลกน่าดู ส่วนใหญ่ผมจะเจอปัญหาจากการที่ insert-ethers แล้วมันไม่เจอ compute node เลย ... รอ @somsak กับ @sugree มาตอบครับ :)
ผมบอกวิธีลงของผมแล้วกันครับ ในส่วน frondend ปกติผมใช้แผ่น jumbo ลงเลยครับ แล้วตอนจะลง compute node ก็ตรวจสอบว่า compute node ต่อกับ switch ที่เป็น private network ถูกต้องแล้ว และเซ็ตให้ compute node สามารถบู๊ตผ่าน network ได้ (คาดว่าคอมรุ่นใหม่ๆจะทำได้กัน) ปกติก่อนติดตั้ง compute node ผมจะตรวจให้แน่ใจก่อนว่า compute node ปิดเครื่องอยู่ จากนั้น เมื่อสั่ง insert-ethers แล้วก็เลือกชนิดของ appliance ต่อจากนั้น ก็เปิดเครื่อง compute node ที่ต้องการติดตั้ง เดี๋ยว frondend จะส่งโปรแกรมไปติดตั้งบน compute node ผ่าน network เองครับ ในช่วงติดตั้งผ่าน network นี้ เราจะเปิด compute node ขึ้นมาติดตั้งกี่เครื่องพร้อมๆกันก็ได้ครับ มันติดตั้งเร็วมากๆ เพราะมันใช้โปรโตคอล bittorrent สำหรับติดตั้งโปรแกรมครับ (คาดว่าเวอร์ชัน 5 น่าจะยังใช้ bittorent อยู่นะ)
โดยสรุปแล้ว หลังจากใช้แผ่น DVD ติดตั้ง frondend ได้อย่างสมบูรณ์แล้ว ผมไม่เคยใช้แผ่น DVD นั้นอีกเลย เพราะมันจะเก็บไฟล์ของโปรแกรมต่างๆทั้ง rocks และ rolls ไว้บน frondend เพื่อใช้กับ compute node ต่อไปครับ

มัน boot pxe ครับ front end ลงอะไรไว้ node ก็จะลงแบบนั้นครับ
เช่น xen
เครื่อง node ปรับ bios ให้มัน boot ผ่าน pxe เลยครับ

พอจะมี doc การ set RocksCluster กับงาน web server, mail server รึเปล่าครับ ไม่ได้ืำทำงานด้านนี้โดยตรง แต่อยากศึกษาไว้ครับ
