Course Description
This course focuses on visualizing data on the Web platform with JavaScript. The course introduces the fundamentals, principles and process of data visualization, importance and benefits of the front-ended, Web-based data visualization. It covers technology fundamentals, architectures and practices with the selected JavaScript visualization libraries and frameworks, which are D3.js and Google Charts. The data-driven transformation, data loading and binding, working with JSON, interactive visualization, visualization style usages and guidelines are included. In addition, the course discusses the architectural differences and selection criteria on data visualization libraries.
