POSITION: Web Applications Developer

SALARY: Starting Salary 782,646 Baht per annum. Negotiable based on experience
The U.S. Embassy Annex in Bangkok is seeking a creative and skillful full time Web Applications Developer.
Duties will include design, develop, test, and maintain the deployed applications as a member of a project team working in a Ruby on Rails development environment, adhering to the Agile Project Management Framework. Documenting user stories and drafting technical documentation and end-user operational instructions is also a requirement.
The Web Applications Developer may be required to travel and/or work extended hours as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent Information Technology degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in Web Application Development
• Must communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing, to converse with technical and non-technical individuals
• Highly experienced individual with object oriented programming languages (i.e. Java, PHP, C++) and/or any web application framework, ideally Ruby on Rails.
Desired:
• Knowledge and experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
• Knowledge in developing automated testing routines and procedures such as RSPEC
• Knowledge and significant experience in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and web-development tools
• Knowledge and experience with agile project management and application tracking systems such as Jira
• Knowledge and experience in Linux-based systems
• Knowledge of search platforms such as SOLR, or Elastic Search
• Knowledge of code repository systems such as SVN or GIT
• Knowledge and experience in Ruby on Rails Platform
