Sunstone is looking for skilled web developers to join our Bangkok-based team!
Applications from both Thai nationals and foreigners are welcome - we can provide work permits and visas if necessary.
We’re currently developing our first in-house product - an education application called Skuugo - and also continuing project work for our international clients. We need new sharp minds and capable pairs of hands to help us to deliver the products!
Here’s the sort of folks we’re looking for:
Fluent written and spoken English. We need you to be directly in touch with our overseas clients, mostly by emails and instant messaging, but Skype conference calls do happen from time to time.
Java and J2EE backend skills. Yeah, we know, it’s getting a bit old school but we’ve got a bunch of J2EE/Grails -based apps to look after.
Javascript - more specifically Node.js and Angular.js. Some level of exposure to cope with ‘callback hell’ is much appreciated.
Basic Linux server understanding. Our apps run mainly on CentOS and Ubuntu boxes and we need you to not to paralyze in front of Apache-proxies and basic bash scripting. No need to be a CIA-approved super-geek, of course, but just being comfortable popping up a terminal and cd’ing instead of double-clicking.
That’s pretty much the main tech stuff in a nutshell. Goes without saying that RoR, PHP, Python etc skills more than welcome and will be treated as major plus. There are always fresh new projects in the pipeline and part of what we’re hoping to offer you is a chance to learn new tricks, or to hone your existing skills if that’s what you prefer.
We try to be pretty neutral about specific technologies - they’re ultimately screwdrivers and hammers in the toolbox: the way you use them is what matters. If Ruby is your thing, or you want to learn it, we’ll do our best to get you to do just that.
Drop your CV to jobs@sunstone.io and we’ll be in touch - looking forward catching up with you!
