Overall Job Purpose:

To design and to specify developments, where possible providing a generalized solution which meets market requirements, development architectures undertaking programming tasks where relevant and assisting more junior staff in this, ensuring that all work is fully tested, is completed on time, to budget and to standards.

Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility for the delivery of code, testing, error resolution, regression testing, code reviews and technical project documentation.
• Additionally responsible for assisting in the production of technical design specifications and estimation of project tasks.
• Review and analyze business requirements with appropriate guidance.
• Model a project's existing procedures and programs if making significant changes.
• Prioritize workload effectively.
• Understand project management methodology. Be able to provide project estimation and feedback on the effective of others' estimation.
• Demonstrate ownership of assigned work; propose alternatives, ensuring testing is comprehensive, make appropriate decisions, and identify when other associates need to be consulted.
• Work with other technical experts and departmental management to drive complex technical problems at project level to closure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development.

Proficient in:
- Programming Languages / Frameworks: Cobol, CICS, JCL
- Operation system: Mainframe
- Database: DB2

Familiar With:
- Software Development Life Cycle
- Test-driven development
- Keen to learn new technologies and new business.
- Have analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good in both written and spoken English.
