Campuscompare.com is a concept website targeted to college-bound kids and their parents. Currently in beta, this site will eventually allow users to compare all US colleges and universities on hundreds of levels – both quantitative (e.g. number of students) and qualitative (e.g. what the bar scene is like.) Information will be gathered from third party sources, independent research as well as through a network of college students. While there are dozens of existing web sites and printed materials that list many different facts and characteristics of colleges and universities, there are none that aggregate for comparison purposes to the level campuscompare.com is promising. Once up and running at full capacity, there will be no other resource a college-bound kid or his parents will need to look to.

CampusCompare is looking for highly motivated Intermediate level PHP/MySQL Developers to join our Bangkok Development Team.

In this position the ideal candidate will play an integral role in the hands-on development of our web properties. Working in our small development group this is the perfect opportunity for a Web developer looking to play a key role in enabling technology for a successful online company. Successful candidates will have demonstrable experience building real online applications in a PHP/MySQL/AJAX environment and will be able to make a meaning full contribution from day one.

The ideal candidate must be proactive, self-motivated and concerned about the quality, integration and long term availability to maintain the code base.

Requirements

• Thai national or valid work permit
• Bachelors Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in software development with PHP
• Experience with database design and MySQL
• Experience with CSS, JavaScript, AJAX in a Linux-Apache environment
• Experience with Rich Internet Applications using JS tools such as MooTools, DojoToolkit, Scriptalicious an asset
• Experience with PEAR an asset
• Background knowledge in UML, PHP 5 Object Model, including interfaces and inheritance
• Show initiative, be self-supervised, self-motivated and highly responsible
• Ability to read, write and understand basic English.
• Service minded with a positive attitude
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage aggressive timelines
• Proactive, self-motivated, systematic thinking, fast learner and willing to contribute and work as a team
• Strong interpersonal, communication skills
• Exhibit attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work.
