The Global News writer is a junior-level position working the Asia shift. You'll be joining The Verge's global news team to produce the most meaningful coverage of technology and culture in the industry.

Responsibilities:

Investigate and write stories covering the broad range of Verge interests including technology, science, and art
Occasionally participate in global event coverage
Qualifications:

Located in or around Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, or China — your time zone availability is important, not your home address
Excellent written English
1-2 years experience working for an online news publication
Knowledge and appreciation of pop culture, art, science, and technology culture
Available from Monday to Friday and the occassional weekend day
Knowledge and familiarity with online publishing in all its forms
Basic knowledge of HTML
Self-motivated
Foreign language skills are a bonus
