Key responsibilities
- Delivering QA on Venda Software Development projects which meet customer both internal and external requirements.
- Ensuring the QA function has rigour and a strong commercial focus.
- Leading, managing and motivating the QA team members
- Delivering continuous improvement for the QA department.
- Maintain a suitably skilled/trained resource pool able to meet the current/future demands of the business.
- Delivering a cost-effective VSD QA operation and ensuring VSD QA remains within its budget.
- Designing and implementing a QA strategy which delivers all above within the agreed budget.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (preferably Computer Science or equivalent).
- At least five years’ commercial QA management experience, gained in the eCommerce sector (or sector with very similar IT demands).
- Successfully designed and implemented QA methodologies, including delivering QA through automated test tools for web applications. Comprehensive knowledge of project life cycles and QA strategies.
- Successfully managed a QA (or software development) team with around 20 staffs, including designing and executing operational strategies for such teams, and ideally responsible for departmental operational and capital expenditure budgets.
- Hands-on experience of the professional cultures of both Thai and UK/US organisations, and has successfully met the expectations and requirements of a parent UK/US organisation, through the operational management of a Thai-staffed department.
- Excellent business, process and systems analysis skills, with the ability to get to real business requirements through questioning and challenging users and customers.
- Track record of recruiting QA (or development) staff of good quality and team-fit, successful in managing their quick induction and managing their on-going development thereafter.
- Experience of working in a Software As a Service or service delivery environment is a plus.
Essential Technical Skills
- Strong Experience in the creation and maintenance of automated test scripts.
- Background in functional testing with the ability to plan, design, script and execute automation/manual test cases.
- Excellent business, process and system analysis skills, with the ability to get to real business requirements through questioning and challenging users and customers.
- Familiar with different types of testing frameworks.
Essential Soft Skills
- Really good communication skills in both Thai and English (written, oral, presentations).
- Ability to bridge gaps and communicate effectively between cross functional teams.
- Excellent management and communication skills.
- Able to manage workload effectively.
- Self-motivating, adaptable and flexible.
- Able to work in a rapid development environment with flexible requirements.
