OctoSoft Co., Ltd. is looking for UI Software Development Engineer to help build cutting-edge e-commerce/e-publishing technologies for use by individuals and businesses of all sizes worldwide.

OctoSoft Co., Ltd. is the development arm of Social Octopus, Inc., a new and growing venture funded US-based web technology company that seeks to disrupt the publishing industry through crowdsourcing and demand-side publishing. Software Development Engineer – UI

As a Software Development Engineer - UI, you will:

Translate design mockups and prototypes into working application designs.
Build large-scale applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, and AJAX.
Work closely with other software development engineers, QAE, and UX designer, as well as international teams in the United States (and other countries) to develop top-quality products that solve actual business and technology problems.
Have a relentless focus on scalability, latency, performance, robustness and cost trade-offs – especially those present in highly virtualized, elastic, cloud-based environments.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, and AJAX.
Knowledge of usability principles, cross-browser compatibility, HTML document architecture, and web best practices
Candidates should be self-starters that are motivated to work independently or in small teams.
Working knowledge of the English language

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with HTTP Protocol
Experience with web services, SOA, AJAX, and web application frameworks
Experience with large database-driven applications and/or distributed computing
Experience with Linux operating systems
Experience with Titanium or Mobile development frameworks
