Senior PHP Developer
Role purpose:
• To use PHP to develop applications to support the deployment of content and classified listings
• To develop web applications using PHP and Object Oriented programming techniques to support a variety of web interfaces
Role & Responsibilities:
• Build effective web modules that will aid and enhance user browsing experience
• Support and maintain existing web applications
• Assisting in overall planning, researching, developing and testing
• Produce design documentation in line with the project scope and deliverables; comprising the following:
o Data Design
o Activity Diagrams
o Other design artefacts as required
• Mentor and assist other developer roles use proper PHP development techniques - role model and set the standard by which PHP applications are developed at iCarAsia
• Strong knowledge on web design technologies, protocols, standards and frameworks
• Development using Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology
• Constructively challenge and discuss opportunities/alternatives
• Optimize queries, indexes, stored procedures and other to increase throughput, availability, scalability, redundancy, superior performance and quick recoverability
• Performing PHP technology reviews during implementation to ensure that the organisation is ready to adopt the project changes
• Gathering stakeholder feedback at various phases of the project
• Be the owner and communicator of the PHP development activities: communications, training, operations, and facilities
• Maintain code of existing applications
• Analyse and fix data irregularities and write code when necessary to fix problems
• Optimize code to increase throughput, availability, scalability, redundancy, superior performance and quick recoverability
• Ensure that all code for the project is version controlled, kept up to date, circulated as appropriate in an agreed standard format
Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in an IT-related field
• Technologies/ Languages: PHP, mySQL, Open Source and commercial CMSs
• Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing complex PHP Development initiatives within large organizations for technology based projects
• Experience in utilising a variety of PHP modules for reading, writing, and parsing
• Must be able to work using ‘Agile’ principles
• Experience in facilitating requirements and prioritisation workshops in a multi-stakeholder environment
• Knowledge and experience with content management systems preferably in implementing web content management solutions
• Experience in Business Process Re-engineering
• Experience in Business Process Improvement
• Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented
• Able to meet deadlines
• Fun, Dynamic, energetic self starter and hands on
• Fair English communication skills
Working location: 28 Floor, Cyberworld Tower, Ratchadapisek Road, Huaykwang, Bangkok 10310
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9.00 – 18.00 น.
