Thailand Gets Going – Over 170 Continental Thailand Employees Running for Community

Rayong, Thailand, September 30, 2012. On your marks – get set – GO! Over 170 Continental Thailand employees were at the start line on the road along Mae Ram Phueng Beach, Banpae, Rayong Province as part of the ContiRunningWeek 2012. Mr.Thomas Chambers, Managing Director and Dr. Dirk Janovsky, General Manager of Continenal Automotive Thailand headed the troupe for the 6-km-long Run.

ContiRunningWeek is one of the biggest social contribution events being held worldwide, starting off in Asia, then in Europe, Africa and America. During the ContiRunningWeek event, around 18,000 employees at more than 90 Continental locations worldwide were getting involved and running or walking a total of approximately 90,000 km to raise money for charities.

“With the ContiRunningWeek, Continental is not only making a contribution to the health and long-term mobility of the company's own employees. At numberous sites worldwide, the good cause week was accompanied by events in support local charities. The outcomes will also help support the health and mobility of those in need in the community,” elaborated Mr. Chambers.

For Thailand, Continental Automobile also incorporated with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Center 1, Municipality of Banpae Station, Banpae Police Station, and Khao Laem Ya and Moo Kho Samed National Park, to organize a Beach Cleaning. Collectively over 400 kilograms of garbage were cleaned up along the Mae Ram Phueng Beach
