The Senior Web System Engineer works in our Bangkok Infrastructure team, supporting all web and application servers at our datacenters.

Successful candidates will have significant experience managing web servers or web farms based on either Windows/IIS or Linux/Apache products, good system troubleshooting skills (either windows or Linux) and exposure to a wide range of server technologies. This position could also be suitable to webmasters looking to move to a broader sysadmin role.

As part of the Global Infrastructure team, this role occasionally involves carrying out maintenance tasks outside core hours to ensure continuity of our infrastructure, as well as (shared) on-call service in weekends and public holidays.

Required experience

* In-depth knowledge of one or more web publishing platforms (IIS, Apache, Nginx, etc.)
* Over 3 years of practical experience managing distributed web farms or large websites
* Experience with deployment tools, scripting, server provisioning and monitoring, etc.
* Comfortable with typical datacenter hardware platforms (HP, IBM, blade systems, SAN, etc.)

Required Skills:
* Solid understanding of Windows 2008(r2) or Linux/RH server configuration
* Excellent knowledge of internet networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, etc.)
* Experience with hardware or software load balancers
* Exposure to “cloud” services (content distribution networks, cloud providers)
* Good English skills, strong analytical skills, eager to learn new things
