Responsibilities
Overview:
The Head of Release Management will establish a robust Release Management/Service Introduction capability within Internal services. Once established to provide transparency and drive ongoing improvements in Release Management service performance, working with the other functions within Internal Service to ensure appropriate management of all Releases across the Internal Service organization.
Responsibilities:
• Champion and drive the Release Management process across Internal Service and ensure that optimum customer service is obtained.
• Ensure effective operation of the process through regular and ongoing reviews of all releases, utilising appropriate MIS and review boards.
• Drive significant improvements in Release Management compliance and hence release failures.
• Drive achievement of OLAs & SLAs within Internal Service and our operational partners to ensure optimum service delivery.
• Responsible for ongoing development of the Release Mgmt process within IS, working with the central process ownership function as required.
• Analyse service reporting within Release Mgmt to drive service improvement.
• SME for Release Management including all associated sub-processes.
• Build and maintain effective relationships within the IS business / development / Third Party and broader Technology Operations organisation.
• Liaise with the Change Management and PMO to ensure appropriate management and focus of related Release Management activities.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science; Computer Engineering or related discipline. Graduate Bachelor Science, Bachelor Engineering , MIS , MIT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years Hands on experience in leading Release Management activities and service improvements, preferable in a global organization.
• Hold ITIL Certification - Version 2 or 3.
• Strong process and analytical skills.
• A positive 'can do/will do' attitude is essential.
• Staff management skills - ability to lead a global function - either through direct control or influence.
• Strong English communication skills.
