ABC Tech, part of the Telenor Group, is a newly established subsidiary of the Norwegian web portal ABC Startsiden AS and media company A-pressen AS. ABC Tech aims at delivering leading products and services to ABC Startsiden, A-pressen and other members of the Telenor family, in tight collaboration with the respective development departments in Norway.

System Developer

As a System Developer you will be a part of our development team, developing various applications and products. We expect senior developers to contribute actively in dialogue with product owners and other developers in planning and implementation. You will be part of a team with participants in both Thailand and Norway.

Most products you encounter will be written in modern Perl, which has much of the characteristics of other modern script languages such as Ruby, Python and Groovy. Perl knowledge is not required, but we expect demonstration of excellent programming skills, in other languages.

As the parent company in Norway is a marked leading portal with a diversified portfolio of products both in the marked and under planning, we have some flexibility to adjust the assignments to your experience, talents and interests. The most probable technology areas are

• Aggregation
• Information retrieval, scraping and crawling
• Mobile terminals and location based services

Successful candidates have some of the following characteristics:

• 3-5 years experience developing using web technologies.
