Codegent is now looking for a Technical Project Manager/Technical Analyst to work on a long-term project for Teachers TV UK. (http://www.teachers.tv/)
Teachers TV is an innovative, multi platform service that delivers content and interactivity to an expanding audience in the UK educational community. With an award winning website that boasts over 350,000 registered users and more than 500,000 video views per month it’s a big player in the online Educational video space.
Teachers TV has experienced a significant rise in the number of website-related projects since the launch of the redesigned website in June 2009, and now needs a full time Technical Project Manager/Technical Analyst in Bangkok to work closely with the Head of Online Technology in London to provide project management and technical scoping for all projects that Teachers TV are undertaking over the next few years, and to act as the primary interface between Teachers TV in the UK and the Teachers TV development team based in Bangkok.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Online Technology and working closely with the UK-based Project Manager, you’ll bring your experience to the Teachers TV digital services team where you will assist in managing the development team in Bangkok, as well as assisting in scoping and creating detailed project plans to manage the delivery of projects.
You’ll need to be able to explain your ideas and approach, take on new requirements and adapt documents accordingly. You will have a broad understanding of web technologies, and you’ll be able to see how content and functional ideas can best be delivered using a combination of new and existing systems or features.
Experience (desireable)
• At least three years experience of working on website development, preferably as a project manager or technical analyst
• Experience with the technical architecture and scoping process involved in developing web-based projects
• Familiarity with LAMP-style infrastructures, PHP and MySQL
• Familiarity with distributed, web-services based software architecture
• Experienced in working with remote development teams
• Broad understanding of cross platform service delivery
• Experience in working with online and interactive communities
• Experience with streaming video servers and services
Skills (required)
• Fluency in technical Thai and English
• Experience in project management and technical analysis
• Experience working with the Agile process and development ticketing and bug tracking systems
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work closely with everyone involved in the production process from editorial staff through to developers and designers
• Able to manage multiple projects/tasks at once
• Understanding and awareness of usability and accessibility guidelines and best practices
Advantageous
• Knowledge of educational community
• Knowledgeable/Enthusiastic about developments in digital technology
