This answer is kinda not answer the questions you asked T_T

From my view I feel that there's many reason to switch to Android

1. No Cortana? you can use Google Now instead

Google Now collects and provide you through your searches (Sadly it require Gmail's rather than Microsoft)

2. Hey there's Microsoft apps in Play Store (Android Market)

I've seen that sometimes even Microsoft develop app to Android and iOS rather than WP.. I don't understand why they care for Android and iOS user than WP user

3. You would get OneDrive but not OneNote (Currently territory not supported - You can still download .apk from internet too)

4. Root and Bootloader! Yeah! Everything is awesome here if you switched to Android, you can custom your own device more than WP could , Xposed, Root, Custom ROM you could freely customize anything (If you're developer and don't mind lose your warranty)

5. Downside you would get official update only 2 years [GPe or Nexus or flahsgip] or less (Of course you can find a Custom ROM online such as XDA Forum)

6. Now is not the best time to buy a new Android , Right now is in transition phase from 32 bit to 64 bit chipset / Android Kitkat (4.4) to Android Lollipop (5.0) / Mid to low end pricing war and flagship announcing in CES 2015 in next 15 days I guest?

8. It's kinda out of your question..sorry but I felt like I used Google service more than anything and I forgot about MS service

9. No Office yet..

These are what I could think of..

First of all, I don't have any experience on iOS and WP at all. I am using ZenFone 5, the one of the best "low-budget flagship" phone.

Cortana? Hmm... It seems like you are in the US/UK/China/India/Canada/Australia, then you won't have the "territory not supported" problems said by khun PsychoReach.

I oftenly use Google Now's voice search to make calls and set reminders, and I am really happy with it. Also, Google Now's card system are great, and for me, I consider it as a totally good AI assistant.

For those Microsoft services, I've heard Microsoft had released Android apps for its platform - check for their apps here

Android is a good platform to go – You'll obviously have fun customizing your own device (if you really want to). I recommend a flagship phone with AOSP ROM (Nexus, f**k yeah!), as you'll get a long software support (I once use HTC Hero, a 2009 smartphones, shipped with Android 1.5, then the support discontinued on 2.1. I flashed CyanogenMod and still get 2.3, which is pretty nice for such an old phone lol)

I think it's better to wait for smartphones shipped with Android 5.0. I don't think the transition from 32-bit architecture to 64-bit will be that fast on the world of Android. Maybe it takes 2-3 years, which is the average lifespan of a smartphone.

So, Android phones gives a really good experience, if you can get a good smartphone. Good luck!

เอาข้อเสียของ Android จากคนเคยใช้ WP มาบอกละกัน

1. Office บน Android นั้นห่วยพอๆ กับ Office บน WP7 แต่มีแนวโน้มจะดีขึ้นเรื่อยๆ และอาจจะดีที่สุดถ้า MS ออกมาให้เอง
2. Root / Custom roms คงไม่ได้ใช้ มันคงไม่ได้เป็นสาระอะไรสำหรับแก และจากที่ใช้มา Pure Android มันดีที่สุดแล้ว แต่ถึงจะดีที่สุด ก็ยังมี Junk-ware จาก GG อยู่บ่อยๆ เกลียดมากกับการ "ยัดเยียดสิ่งที่ไม่ต้องการ"
3. Android แอพของเล่นเยอะมาก ของฟรีมีเยอะ แต่ไม่ได้มีคุณภาพที่ดีมาก เช่น E-E Dict ของ Longman ห่วยขนาดว่าไม่ควรทำออกมาขายเลย
4. ในทางตรงกันข้าม App เฉพาะทางของแกมีอะไรบ้างที่จะต้องใช้ List มาเป็นข้อๆ เลย แล้วดูว่ามีบน iOS หรือ Android มากกว่ากัน
5. Web browser บน Android มีให้เลือกเยอะอย่างกับบน Windows XP/7 แต่มันก็ไม่ได้ทำงานเหมือนกันซะทีเดียว Extension ก็ใช้ร่วมกันระหว่าง 2 ระบบไม่ได้ (FF) หรือไม่มี (Chrome)
6. ย้ายบริการจาก MS Service มา GG service ไม่ยุ่งยากมาก แต่ถ้าไม่ต้องการย้าย ก็ "ยาก" อยู่ Calendar น่าจะยังใช้ร่วมกันไม่ได้ (ใครมีวิธีบอกด้วย)
7. บริการหาเพลง Shazam ยังสู้ Bing Audio Search ไม่ได้ อย่างน้อยก็ยังหาเพลงของ Tata Young ไม่เจอ
8. GG voice คาดว่ามันจะดีกว่า Cortana นะ หรือเพราะในไทย Bing สู้ Google ไม่เคยได้ก็ไม่รู้
9. Android เลือกที่มี Internal mem ให้เยอะๆ เอาให้เยอะที่สุดเท่าที่แกจะซื้อได้ไปเหอะ Google มันไม่ค่อยสนใจจะใช้ MicroSD จนทุกวันนี้ Nexus series ก็ยังไม่มีช่องใส่ microSD ซื้อการ์ดมาใส่ ก็เท่านั้น
10. มันไม่เสถียร เคยรับสายไม่ได้เพราะเครื่องค้าง แต่ทำงานอย่างอื่นได้ปรกติ โชคดีว่ามีหลายเบอร์ คนโทรมาเลยโทรหาเบอร์อื่น สัปดาห์นึงน่าจะต้อง restart ซัก 1-2 ครั้ง
