Hello Everyone from Texas,

If you consider yourself an IT professional, please fill out the survey. This is a survey that needs opinion/input from Thai IT professionals.

Khun Platalay, you'll be perfect to fill out the survey. Volunteers in any area of the tsunami will do.

My study is more on what roles that different agencies i.e. government, semi-government, and privately-owned have on the development of information society in Thailand. We - IT professionals are unquestionably a major part of the information society.

Tsunami disaster was an acid test for these agencies to see how well they were doing their jobs.

Much like Hurricane Katrina that exposed the failure of FEMA boss and for that matter Mr. President himself.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone has his/her opinion on the well being of our information society. I would be grateful for your time in filling out my survey. It's a short one, you won't spend more than 5-10 mins.

I have to say it puzzled me that the domain thaitsunami.com for the "Government's Official" tsunami website is no longer active. It says a thing or two about:
(1) who initially registered the domain
(2) any replacement for thaitsunami.com ?

การดำเนินงานของ MICT เกี่ยวกับคลื่นสึนามิระหว่างวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม 2547 ถึง 4 มกราคม 2548

คณะรัฐมนตรีมีมติตามที่กระทรวงเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสารเสนอ ดังนี้ รับทราบการ ดำเนินงานให้ความช่วยเหลือจังหวัดที่ประสบภัยคลื่นสึนามิ ของกระทรวงเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร ระหว่างวันที่ 26 ธันวาคม 2547 ถึง 4 มกราคม 2548 ในส่วนของ

1. การให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านระบบสื่อสารโทรคมนาคม
2. การรับบริจาค
3. การสร้าง website : www.thaitsunami.com
4. การรับโอน Call Center ของมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์รังสิต รวมทั้ง
5. การส่งเจ้าหน้าที่จากสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติลงไปสำรวจความ เสียหายของทรัพย์สิน ความต้องการอย่างเร่งด่วนของประชาชน และ
6. การกำหนดแบบฟอร์มาตรฐานที่จะใช้ ในการกรอกรายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับผู้เสียชีวิต ผู้ที่สูญหาย ผู้ที่บาดเจ็บ และ
7. กำหนด Password ให้กับสถานทูตและผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดของทุกจังหวัด และ GCC 1111 เพื่อให้ผู้ใช้สามารถมีสิทธิ์เข้าไปดูภาพถ่ายของ ผู้เสียชีวิต และ
8. เห็นชอบให้กระทรวงที่รับผิดชอบในการช่วยเหลือผู้ที่ประสบภัยส่งประกาศที่ เกี่ยวข้องมาให้ กระทรวงเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร เพื่อที่จะได้นำข้อมูลดังกล่าวลงในเว็บไซต์ www.thaitsunami.com และ
9. ให้กระทรวงเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร เป็น Contact Point ในการรวบรวมข้อมูลจากทุกหน่วย
10. หากหน่วยงานใดมีความประสงค์ที่จะได้ข้อมูลในเรื่องใด ให้ประสานงานโดยตรงกับกระทรวงเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร
