ได้ 3 ผู้ชนะจากการแข่งหุ่นยนต์ของ DARPA

จากข่าวเก่า DARPA Challenge เริ่มขึ้นอีกครั้ง ตอนนี้การแข่งขันเสร็จสิ้นไปแล้ว และผู้ที่สามารถสร้างรถหุ่นยนต์จนวิ่งเข้าเส้นชัยได้ตามเวลาที่กำหนด 6 ชั่วโมงมี 3 มหาวิทยาลัย

ทีมแรกที่ผ่านเกณฑ์คือมหาวิทยาลัยสแตนฟอร์ด ซึ่งใช้รถ VW Passat ชื่อ "Junior" ทีมที่สองคือมหาวิทยาลัยคาร์เนกีเมลลอน (ใช้รถ Chevy Tahoe) และทีมสุดท้ายสถาบันเทคโนโลยีเวอร์จิเนีย ใช้รถ Ford Escape แบบไฮบริด ต้องหมายเหตุไว้นิดว่าแต่ละทีมเริ่มไม่พร้อมกันและได้รับเป้าหมายแตกต่างกันไป จึงต้องรอการตัดสินจากกรรมการว่าทีมไหนจะได้รับเงิน 2 ล้านเหรียญสำหรับรางวัลชนะเลิศ

งานนี้มีสถาบันต่างๆ ส่งรถเข้าแข่งขันทั้งหมด 11 ทีม (รายชื่อ)

เห็นด้วยกับคุณ DuRiAn ลักษณะปัญหาและระดับความซับซ้อนของปัญหามันแตกต่างกันมากนะครับ ควบคุมรถเดินทางระยะไกล ไร้มนุษย์ควบคุม ในความเร็วเฉลี่ยนไม่น้อยกว่า 16 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง สภาพถนนจริงๆ สัญญาณไฟ รถ ป้ายสัญญาณ พุ่มไม้ สิ่งกีดขวาง และที่เด็ดสุดไม้กั้นรถ สิ่งกีดขวางที่จะเจอได้ในชีวิตประจำวัน แถมห้ามชนเด็ดขาด

และที่สำคัญ ผู้สนับสนุนคือ DARPA มันส่วนหนึ่งของกลาโหมสหรัฐนะครับ อุตสาหกรรมด้านนี้ของสหรัฐทุนหนาจะตายไป แถมตรงนี้เค้าสามารถเอาตรงนี้ไปต่อยอดในทางทหารได้นะครับ

VirginiaTech ชื่อเต็มๆว่า Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (ที่เด็กเกาหลีกราดยิงนักเรียน) น่าจะเรียกว่ามหาวิทยาลัยเวอร์จิเนียเทค มากกว่า สถาบันเทคโนโลยีเวอร์จิเนีย
