อ่าน ข่าว Google ได้เตรียมจะเปิดตัว Open Social API ซี่งเป็นการเปิด API เพื่อลิงค์กัน ระหว่าง Social Networking ยักษ์ใหญ่ของโลก คือ Hi5.com (คนไทยรู้จักกันดี) , Orkut (ของ Google เอง), LinkedIn (สำหรับหางาน หรือหาธุรกิจ) , Friendster, Ning (ของอดีคผู้ก่อตั้ง Netscape) , Salesforce.com (Online Service เก็บเงินที่ประสบความสำเร็จที่สุดตัวหนึ่ง) ,Flixster, iLike, RockYou และสุดท้าย คือ Slide (ที่มักเห็นอยู่บน Hi5.com ประจำ)

ข่าวนี้ออกมา เชื่อได้ว่าสะเทือนโลกออนไลน์เป็นอย่างมาก เพราะนอกจากเป็นการร่วมมือกันระหว่างยักษ์ใหญ่ในวงการ Social Networking แล้ว ยังเป็นการท้ารบ ผู้ที่ร้อนแรงที่สุดอย่าง Facebook ที่เพิ่งขายหุ้นบางส่วนให้กับ Microsoft (ไม่รู้เพราะ Google แค้นรึเปล่าเลยยิงหมัดเด็ดแรงขนาดนี้ แต่ถ้า Google ได้ Facebook ไป เกมกระดานนี้คงจบ)

นี่เป็นเกม convergence ของโลกออนไลน์ล่ะครับ

จั่วหัวซะน่ากลัว

แต่ผมว่ายาก

ถึงแม้จะมี API ครอบจักรวาล แต่ก็ไม่ได้หมายความว่าทุกคนจะหันไปใช้ Mashup แทนการเข้าเวบหลักของ Social network นั้นๆ

เหตุผลก็หลายอย่าง ทั้งเรื่องความคุ้นเคย, User experience หรือเรื่องที่สำคัญที่สุด คือความไว้ใจในความปลอดภัย

ส่วนตัวแล้ว ผมไม่ค่อยได้เล่น Facebook เลยนึกไม่ออกว่าจะทำ Mashup อะไรกับ Facebook ดี ขอไม่ออกความเห็นในตอนนี้ครับ

ผมว่าดีออก ทีนี้ใครทำเวบแนว ๆ Social network ต่อไป จะได้มีมาตรฐานสำหรับสื่อสารกับ Network อื่น ๆ

อาจจะกระทบกับเจ้าใหญ่ ๆ ที่เกิดมาก่อน แต่ก็ไม่มาก

ถ้ามองในมุมผมคือ google นั้นทำได้ตั้งแต่แรกแล้ว แต่ไม่ยอมทำเพราะผลประโยชน์รึเปล่า?

มีบทวิเคราะห์สถานการณ์นี้ที่เขียนโดยคนที่ทำ Ning (Marc Andreessen) อยู่ที่ blog เค้า พูดถึงผลกระทบในด้านต่างๆ และใจความสำคัญของ Open Social ถ้าสนใจเรื่องนี้ ก็ต้องลองไปอ่านดู
