NPD Group เผยสถิติยอดขายเกมตามร้านค้าปลีก (retail sales) ของสหรัฐอเมริกาตลอดทั้งปี 2011 ยอดรวมอยู่ที่ 17.02 พันล้านดอลลาร์ ลดลงจากปี 2010 เล็กน้อย

ที่น่าสนใจคือไมโครซอฟท์ฟาดไปซะ 6.7 พันล้านดอลลาร์ หรือคิดเป็น 40% ของยอดขายเกมปลีกทั้งหมด ตัวเลขนี้แบ่งเป็นยอดขายเครื่อง 2.1 พันล้านดอลลาร์ และยอดขายเกม 4.6 พันล้านดอลลาร์

ส่วนยอดขายเกมผ่านระบบดิจิทัลที่แยกเป็นคนละส่วนกัน ปีนี้มีมูลค่า 7.24 พันล้านดอลลาร์ โตขึ้นจากปีก่อน 7%

เกมยอดนิยมประจำเดือนธันวาคม 2011 เป็นของ Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ครับ

T_T โซนี่ผมตีตลาดอเมกาไม่ค่อยติดจริงๆ แต่เราจะเล่นนายต่อ PS จงเจริญ!!!

ยอดขายเตรื่อง PS3 ในอเมริกาห่างจาก 360 ไม่มากเรียกว่าติดไปแล้วแต่ขายได้ไม่เท่า 360 เท่านั้นยิ่งถ้าไปดูยอดขายรวมทั่วโลกแล้ว PS3 มากกว่า 360 มาตลอดครับจนทำให้ระยะห่างตอนนี้เหลือแค่ 3 ล้านเครื่องแล้ว
ไม่ใช่เหมือนในญี่ปุ่นที่ยอดรวม 360 อยู่แค่ประมาณ 20% ของ PS3 เท่านั้นแต่ MS ยังไม่ยอมแพ้อยากตีตลาดต่อเพราะมูลค่าการตลาดในญี่ปุ่นสูงมากตีติดเมื่อไรสบายยาว
