ชื่อ Firefox นอกจากจะหมายถึงเบราว์เซอร์จากค่าย Mozilla แล้ว ในภาษาจีนมันยังหมายถึง "แพนด้าแดง" สัตว์ป่าสงวนชนิดหนึ่งอีกด้วย

ทาง Mozilla จึงใช้โอกาสที่สวนสัตว์ Knoxville Zoo รัฐเทนเนสซี มีลูกแพนด้าแดงเกิดใหม่ 2 ตัว เปิดเว็บไซต์ Firefox Live ติดกล้องให้ดูแพนด้าแดง 2 ตัวนี้แบบทุกมุมมองตลอดเวลา โดยมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อใช้แบรนด์ Firefox ช่วยโปรโมทว่าแพนด้าแดงเป็นสัตว์หายากที่ควรสงวนไว้นั่นเอง

นอกจากนี้ Mozilla ยังจัดประกวดการตั้งชื่อแพนด้าแดงทั้งสองตัว ร่วมสนุกได้บนเว็บ Firefox Live ครับ

ที่ผมเคยไปเห็นมีอยู่ 2 ตัว แต่ไปกี่ทีเห็นมันนอนตลอดเลย -*-

มองหายาก เพราะเห็นมันนอนอยู่ตรงมุมตลอด

ตอนแรกที่ไปดูหาไม่เจอคิดว่าเป็นห้องเปล่าๆ ปรากฏว่านอนหลบมุมอยู่

ไม่รู้ว่าคนที่เคยไป เจอแบบผมบ้างมั้ย

แต่ไปครั้งล่าสุดนี่ 3-4 ปีแล้ว ไม่รู้ว่าปัจจุบันเป็นไงบ้าง

หายากมาก แต่หน้าตาน่ารักดี ยังไม่มีตังค์ไปดูแพนด้าที่เชียงใหม่

ผมไม่เข้าใจว่า Browser อย่าง firefox ถูกทำขึ้นด้วยองค์กรที่ได้รับสนุนจากคนอื่น หรือว่าเป็นบริษัทครับ

งงมานานแล้วครับ ว่าเขาทำ Browser แล้วจะได้เงินจากตรงไหน (ไม่นับในปัจจุบันที่เขาขายพวก add-on นะครับ)

มูลนิธิ=องค์กรที่ไม่แสวงหาผลกำไร
เงินทุน=เงินบริจาค

เงินบริจาคส่วนใหญ่มาจากบริษัทที่ได้เสียกับ Mozilla และคนทั่วไปก็บริจาคให้ Mozilla ได้ครับ

Opera นี่รายรับน่าจะหลายทางอยู่ครับ เรื่องรับเงินจากกูเกิลก็เหมือนเคยได้ข่าวนะ ซึ่งจริงๆแล้วก็มีหลายบริษัทที่เอา Opera ไปใช้ พวกดังๆก็อย่าง Nintendo, HTC, Samsung (เอาไปใส่ในอุปกรณ์ตัวเอง), Adobe (ใช้ใน Creative Suite 2 และ 3 มั๊ง 4 ใช้ webkit ส่วน Dreamweaver ใช้ Presto มาตั้งแต่ MX) หรือ Operator เพื่อนร่วมชาติอย่าง Telenor

อย่าให้ (Mozilla) Firefox หายากเหมือน Firefox ละกันนะ ยิ่งตอนนี้ยิ่งลดปริมาณอยู่ด้วย ไม่เร่งทำอะไรสักหลาย ๆ อย่างมีหวังได้หายากแน่ ๆ

น่ารักจะ จะไม่แปลกใจถ้ามีคนอยากเอาไปเลี้ยงเหมือนสุนัข
แต่สัตว์จำนวนน้อยแบบนี้ควรต้องสงวนไว้นั้นแหละ

มันไม่ง่ายเลยที่จะทำ GIF ให้มีขนาดน้อยกว่า 20kB

คำว่า "หมา+ไฟ" ในภาษาจีน คือสัตว์ชนิดนี้ครับ (ที่ฝรั่งเรียก red panda)
