ในงาน iPhone SDK นั้นแอปเปิลได้ประกาศปล่อย API ชุดเดียวกันที่แอปเปิลใช้ในการพัฒนาแอพพลิเคชั่นให้กับไอโฟน โดยตัว SDK นั้นมาพร้อมกับ iPhone emulator สำหรับ Mac OS X

สำหรับการแจกจ่ายแอพพลิเคชั่นนั้นก็เป็นไปตามคาด คือจะทำการแจกจ่ายผ่าน iTunes App Store โดยผู้พัฒนาแอพพลิเคชั่นสามารถที่จะเลือกราคาของตนเองได้ และจะใช้ 70% ของราคานั้น (ส่วน 30% นั้นก็เป็นของแอปเปิลนั่นเอง) โดยแอปเปิลจะทำการจ่ายเงินให้กับผู้พัฒนาทุก ๆ เดือน ส่วนผู้พัฒนาฟรีแวร์ให้กับไอโฟนนั้นสามารถนำแอพพลิเคชั่นของตนขึ้น iTunes ได้ฟรี

แอปเปิลได้กล่าวว่าจะไม่มีการห้ามพัฒนาซอฟต์แวร์ประเภท VoIP ที่ใช้การเชื่อมต่อผ่าน Wi-Fi แต่ห้ามการใช้ผ่านเครือข่ายโทรศัพท์มือถือ

ไอโฟนที่จะรองรับ iTunes App Store นั้นจะมีเฟิร์มแวร์เวอร์ชั่น 2.0 โดยคาดว่าจะเสร็จสิ้นสมบูรณ์ภายในเดือนมิถุนายนที่จะถึงนี้

สำหรับอัพเดทเฟิร์มแวร์เวอร์ชั่น 2.0 สำหรับไอโฟนนั้นฟรี ส่วนผู้ใช้ไอพ็อดทัชจำเป็นต้องจ่ายเงินเพียงเล็กน้อยเนื่องจากปัญหาทางด้านบัญชี

Last night (Thailand Time), Apple has announced the release of iPhone SDK in its iPhone SDK Roadmap event. The APIs used is said to be the same one that Apple uses to develop its applications for iPhone. The SDK also includes iPhone emulator that can only be run on Mac OS X.

The way Apple distributes software developed for iPhones is through "iTunes App Store". Developers will get 70% of the revenue made while the other 30% will go to Apple. And for freewares, Apple will put it onto iTunes App Store free of charge.

Apple has no restriction on VoIP software development but it must connect only through Wi-Fi.

iTunes App Store will be integrated into iPhones in its 2.0 firmware update, scheduled for this upcoming June. For iPhone owners, this will be a free update. However, iPod touch owners will have to pay a minimal amount of money just because Apple has some accounting issues (in which we never know about).
