มาตรฐาน USB 3.1 ออกแล้ว รองรับความเร็ว 10 Gbps

กลุ่ม USB-IF ประกาศมาตรฐาน USB 3.1 ให้นักพัฒนาสามารถเข้าดาวนโหลดได้แล้ว โดยจุดเด่นที่สุดของเวอร์ชั่นนี้คือความเร็วที่เร่งขึ้นไปเป็น 10 Gbps

ที่ความเร็ว 10 Gbps จะทำให้ USB สามารถใช้ส่งมูลภาพระดับ Full HD ได้โดยไม่บีบอัด (ภาพระดับ 4K ตามมาตรฐาน DisplayPort 1.2 ใช้แบนด์วิดท์ประมาณ 17 Gbps) ทำให้ USB อาจจะกลายเป็นพอร์ตแทนจอภาพและกลายเป็นคู่แข่งของ Thunderbolt ที่มีผู้ผลิตจำกัด และผู้ใช้รายอื่นนอกจากแอปเปิลถอนตัวออกไปเกือบหมด

USB-IF จะจัดงานสัมมนาสำหรับนักพัฒนาอีกสามครั้งในสหรัฐฯ, ยุโรป, และเอเชีย ตั้งแต่เดือนสิงหาคมนี้จนถึงเดือนธันวาคม

การประกาศเอกสารมาตรฐานมักต้องรออีกเกือบปีเต็มกว่าอุปกรณ์จริงจะออกมา

Uncompress 4K ไม่น่าจะถึง 17 Gbps นะครับ เพราะสาย SDI เต็มที่มันก็ 6 Gbps และถ้าคำนวณตามนี้

4K = 3840 × 2160 เมื่อคิดที่ 24bit (3byte) จะต้องใช้ข้อมูลทั้งหมด 199065600 bit ต่อเฟรม

หน้าจอปรกติแสดงผลที่ขั้นต่ำ 60 fps ก็คูณ 60 เข้าไป จะได้ 11943936000 bit ต่อวินาที = ประมาณ 11Gbps กว่าๆ ครับ

แต่ถ้าเป็น 32bpp ก็บวกเพิ่มไปอีก 25% = ราว ๆ 13Gbps

อย่าลืมว่า

  1. จอภาพมัน 60fps ไม่ใช่ 24fps แบบ SDI (และถึงแบบโหดๆ ที่ส่งผ่าน SDI ส่วนมากก็เป็น 60i)
  2. ถ้าเป็นวิดีโอที่ส่งผ่าน SDI มันจะส่งแบบ 4:2:2 ไม่ก็ 4:2:0 (จำไม่ได้) แต่มันก็ใช้บิทน้อยกว่าอยู่ดี (ถ้า 4:2:0 จะน้อยกว่าเท่านึงเลย)

งานผมดันใช้ Thunderbolt เสียหมดครับ USB คงน่าจะมาใช้ในเชิง HDD ทั่วไปมากกว่ามั้งครับ

ปล.ถ้าดีจริงๆน่าจะซัก 50Gbps น่าจะพอดีการทำงานแล้วครับ

ใช้ USB 3.0 แล้วมีความสุขขึ้นเยอะมาก ต่อ HDD USB 3.0 พ่วงผ่าน HUB USB 3.0 ทั้งหมด 6 ตัว ส่งข้อมูลไปมาบน Host Port ทั้งหมด 2 ช่อง สบายๆ เลย ความเร็วไม่ค่อยตกวิ่งกันที่ 60MB/s - 90MB/s ซึ่งความเร็วพอๆ กับความเร็ว HDD ปรกติแล้ว (ความเร็ว HDD ปรกติผ่าน SATA อยู่ที่ 90MB/s - 120MB/s) แต่ที่ความเร็วยังไม่สุดคงเพราะ CPU ที่ต้องไปช่วยจัดการด้วยแหละ ><"

เครื่องผมมี USB 3.0 อยู่ 2 port ครับ

  1. ต่อเข้า USB 3.0 Hub ยี่ห้อ Orico 4 port เพื่อต่อ ext HDD 3 ตัว
  2. ต่อเข้ากับ HDD Bay USB 3.0 แบบ 4 Bay ใส่ HDD ภายในไว้ 3 ช่อง เชื่อมต่อกันครับ

เหตุที่ต่อแบบนี้ไม่รวมเข้า Hub เพราะแยก Channel ด้วยจะได้เร็วมากขึ้นครับ

เป็นพวก HDD Bay ซะเป็นส่วนใหญ่ครับ รู้สึกจะมีแบบตัวเดียวคอมหลายเครื่องได้ (เหมือน LAN แต่แบบตรงกว่า)

แล้วก็ไว้ประดับแทน MiniDisplayPort ที่เป็นอีกหนึ่งรายได้เสริมเวลาขาย MacBook ครับ

ชอบ USB มากกว่า Thunderbolt เพราะมันใช้อุปกรณ์ usb2 ได้ด้วย อย่างน้อยก็มีพอร์ทไว้ต่อมือถืออีก
