กระแส App Store กำลังมาแรงไม่หยุด ล่าสุดมีข่าวว่า Mozilla จะเปิด Firefox Add-on Store ในปีหน้า

ปัจจุบัน Firefox มีศูนย์กลางสำหรับ add-ons อยู่แล้วคือ addons.mozilla.org (AMO) และมีฟีเจอร์ที่ค่อนสร้างสมบูรณ์ ปัญหาคือมันยังไม่รองรับการขาย add-on ทำได้แค่การขอบริจาคเท่านั้น แต่ในงาน Add-on-Con ตัวแทนของ Mozilla ได้ประกาศว่าเราจะได้เห็น Firefox Add-on Store ในปีหน้า

รายละเอียดยังแทบไม่มีเพราะตัวแทนของ Mozilla ยอมรับว่ายังไม่ได้ตัดสินใจว่ารูปแบบของ Store จะออกมาเป็นเช่นไร แต่ที่แน่ๆ เขาบอกชัดเจนว่าจะไม่ใช้ DRM กับ add-on แน่นอน

มันไม่ได้บล็อกนะครับ แค่เจ้าของเค้าไม่อัพเดท ระบบก็จะป้องกันไม่ให้ผู้ใช้ทั่วไปลง add-on ตกรุ่น ยกเว้นอยากจะลงจริงๆ มันก็มีช่องทางให้อยู่ แนะนำให้หาเวอรชั่นที่คนอิ่นเอาไปทำต่อ เช่น Fasterfox (EladKarako Mod) 3.1.0 อย่าลืมติ๊กตรงช่อง "Let me install this experimental add-on"

งั้นเบราเซอร์ยุคต่อไปสำหรับ user ธรรมดาที่ไม่ได้ใช้ extention เทพๆ
Chrome จะมาเป็นพระเอกหรือเปล่า เพราะตอนนี้ extention พื้นฐานอย่าง AdBlock+,IE tab,Cooliris,Gmail manager,Xmarks Chrome ก็มีหมดแล้ว แถมยังจะตามมาเป็นตันๆ อีก
หรือแม้แต่ Firebug Lite ซึ่งความจริงแล้วการดูโค้ดเว็บใน Chrome มันก็พิเศษกว่าชาวบ้านเค้าอยู่แล้ว เมนู Developer Tools ก็มีมาให้ (ลองกด Ctrl+Shift+I, Ctrl+Shift+J)

จากเดือนที่แล้วผมใช้ FF90% Chrome9% IE1% ตอนนี้ผมใช้ FF กับ Chrome 50/50 แล้วครับ ด้วยความที่มันเบาและไหลลื่นมากๆ ขนาดอัด Extention เยอะๆ แล้ว ไม่มีอาการบวม อืด บูทช้าแบบ firefox เลย (ของผมเปิด chrome ใช้เวลา 0.5 วินาที firefox กว่าจะใช้ได้ 20 วินาที) ถ้าแก้อาการคลุมดำยากๆ ตัวสุดท้ายไม่ติด และ textbox ที่น่าหงุดหงิดได้ ผมย้ายมา chrome 100%

ใครจะขายก็ขายเถอะครับ แต่อยากให้ทำเวอร์ชั่นฟรีพอใช้ ประมาณตัว Lite ถ้าจะใช้แบบเทพๆ ก็ขายเป็นเวอร์ชั่น Pro
ผมคิดว่าทำให้ยิ้มได้ สำหรับทั้งคนใช้และผู้พัฒนานะ

เวลาที่เรากรอกข้อมูลอะไรผิด แล้วคลิกตัวอักษรตัวสุดท้ายเพื่อจะ Backspace ลบข้อความ มันจะพาลไปอยู่ข้างหน้าสุดทุกที

ผมรอมันแก้ปัญหาเรื่อง text selection เหมือนกัน เวลาผมจะก๊อปข้อความภาษาไทยอะไรต่อมิอะไรน่าหงุดหงิดมากจริงๆ

ผมว่าเปิด Add-On Store นี่ดีออก
จะได้เป็นแรงจูงใจให้นักพัฒนามาทำ Add-On ให้เยอะๆ
เรื่อฟรีๆ หรือต้องจ่ายตัง ปล่อยให้เป็นกลไกของตลาดไป

เข้าใจว่าน่าจะเปิดเพราะบางตัวก็ทำขาย ผู้ใช้จะได้ไม่ต้องสับสนว่าที่ Search เจอจากเว็บ addons นั้นมีเสียตังค์ด้วยเหรอ อะไรประมาณนั้น

ส่วนที่ว่า extensions ตัวอื่นจะเฮโลไปขายกันหมด ผมว่าที่ดัง ๆ เค้าคงต้องคิดหนักล่ะครับ เพราะมันก็ไม่ได้มีแค่เค้าเท่านั้นที่สามารถทำได้ สินค้าทดแทนเยอะแยะ

/ ไม่ใช้ Chrome เพราะยังมีปัญหากับเว็บสุดยอด CSS อย่างผู้จัดการออนไลน์อยู่

คิดในมุม Dev ก็ดีนะ คนเขียนaddonจะได้มีกำลังใจทำ แล้วก็จะส่งผลดีกลับมาให้เราเอง ถ้า addon มันดีจริงก็ยอมจ่ายเงินได้
