[ข่าวลือ] iWork/iLife ชุดใหม่ไม่สามารถใช้งานได้บน PowerPC แล้ว?

MacRumors รายงานว่าหลังจากที่มีการเปิดตัว iMac ใหม่มานั้น ทำให้เว็บ Mac4Ever ที่รายงานข่าวลือเกี่ยวกับ iMac ก่อนใครนั้นกลายเป็นเว็บข่าวลือที่แม่นยำที่สุด โดยในคราวนี้นั้นเว็บ Mac4Ever ได้กล่าวถึงข่าวด้านซอฟต์แวร์ของแอปเปิลว่าคราวนี้ชุดโปรแกรม iLife และ iWork จะรันบน 64-bit และสามารถใช้ได้เฉพาะกับเครื่องอินเทลแมคเท่านั้น

หากแอปเปิลเลือกที่ออกชุด iLife และ iWork ทุก ๆ 18 เดือนเหมือนที่เคยทำมาตลอด เราอาจจะได้เห็น iLife และ iWork ในช่วงกลางปีหน้า โดยใช้ชื่อว่า iLife '11 หรือ iWork '11

นอกจากนี้แล้ว Mac4Ever ยังรายงานว่า Tablet ของแอปเปิลที่จะออกมาได้ถูกเลื่อนไปเปิดตัวในช่วงครึ่งหลังของปีหน้าแทน และยังได้บอกอีกว่า Tablet ของแอปเปิลนี้จะไม่เหมือนกับคอนเซ็ป, ดีไซน์หรือภาพเรนเดอร์ที่เราเห็น ๆ กันแม้แต่น้อย (อาจกลายเป็นสินค้าเซอร์ไพรส์แบบไอโฟนก็ได้)

มันไม่ใช่เรื่องที่จะไปด่าไมโครซอฟท์ไงครับ

คือสมัยที่ไมโครซอฟท์ไม่ยอมพัฒนา IE (ซึ่งนานหลายปีอยู่ อันนั้นผมก็ด่า) อันนั้นก็เรื่องหนึ่ง

แต่พัฒนาแล้ว เปิดให้ดาวน์โหลดแล้ว ผู้ใช้ไม่ยอมอัพเดต อันนั้นเป็นคนละเรื่อง

ไมโครซอฟท์มีลูกค้าองค์กรเยอะ web app หลายตัวที่ไม่สนใจมาตรฐาน และอิงกับพฤติกรรมของ IE6 การที่ไมโครซอฟท์ ยังซัพพอร์ตและแก้บั๊ก จะสิบปีร้อยปี มันเป็นเรื่องที่ควรจะขอบคุณเขา

เรื่องการ maintain ความ compatible นี่เป็นเรื่องที่ต้องยอมรับว่าไมโครซอฟท์ทำได้ดีเสมอมาครับ app รุ่นโบราณกาลจำนวนมากยังทำงานใน dos mode ได้เป็นปรกติสุข

ส่วนผู้ใช้ไม่ยอมอัพเกรด ถ้าเขาจ่ายเงินก็ต้องทำตามเขาล่ะครับ ทำงานแล้วทุกข์ก็คิดตังค์เพิ่มกันไป แต่ถ้าอย่าง blognone เราก็ประกาศง่ายๆ เลยว่าไม่ซัพพอร์ตครับ เข้าได้ก็ยินดีด้วย ถ้าเละก็ตัวใครตัวมัน
