ยาฮูเลือกผู้บริหารคนใหม่แทน Yang

จากสภาวะการอันย่ำแย่ของยาฮูในช่วงหลังๆ ทำให้ยาฮูต้องออกมาเปลี่ยนตัวผู้บริหารเล็กน้อย โดยทางกรรมการบริหารได้เลือกให้ Carol Bartz อดีตผู้บริหารของ AutoDesk มาแทนที่ Jerry Yang ที่ลาออกไปเมื่อสองเดือนก่อน (ข่าวเก่าโดยคุณ mk: เจอรี่ หยาง ลาออกจาก CEO ยาฮูแล้ว) แล้วครับ

Bartz เคยเป็นผู้บริการของ Autodesk ในช่วงปี 1992-2006 และก่อนหน้านี้เธอเคยทำงานที่ Sun, Cisco และ Intel มาก่อน เธอมีความชำนาญในด้านซอฟต์แวร์สำหรับธุรกิจมากกว่าอินเทอร์เน็ต อย่างไรก็ดี เป็นที่คาดการณ์ว่าเธอจะต้องนำยาฮูออกจากวิกฤตการณ์ครั้งนี้ให้ได้ ซึ่งทำให้มีความเป็นไปได้อีกครั้งที่จะขายยาฮูให้ไมโครซอฟท์

นักวิเคราะห์คาดว่าเธอน่าจะทำได้เหมือนอย่างที่ Eric Schmidt ทำเมื่อตอนเปลี่ยนจากเปลี่ยนที่จาก Sun และ Novell มายัง Google

ผมว่าข่าวเล็กๆ ที่น่าสนใจใต้ข่าวนี้คือ Susan Decker ประธานของยาฮูประกาศลาออกด้วย หลังช่วง transition period จบ

ถ้าเปรียบกับกูเกิล ว่า Yang-Filo เป็นเหมือน Brin-Page ก็จะได้ประมาณว่า Decker เทียบเท่า Eric Schmidt คืออำนาจการบริหารจริงๆ อยู่กับเธอหมด (แค่ชื่อเรียกตำแหน่งต่างออกไป)

เหมือนว่า Yahoo ต้องการ "change"! (แต่ก็มีรายงานบอกว่า Bartz นี่แหละเป็นเพื่อนสนิทกับ Decker)

ส่วนเรื่องความเชี่ยวชาญนี่ผมว่าไม่เกี่ยวเลย เพราะก่อนหน้านี้ Yahoo เลือกเอา Terry Semel ซึ่งมาจากบริษัทหนังในฮอลลีวู้ดคือ Warner เพื่อจะมุ่งไปในด้านสื่อ ภายหลังเราก็รู้กันว่าเจ๊งไม่เป็นท่า ในขณะที่ Schmidt มาจากสายซอฟต์แวร์เหมือนกัน (Sun/Novell) ผลกลับออกมาอีกแบบ
