Mike Nesh ผู้บริหารระดับสูงของไมโครซอฟท์ออกมาเปิดเผยใน Windows Vista Team Blog ว่าไมโครซอฟท์กำลังจะแจก Vista SP2 ให้กับกลุ่มทดสอบกลุ่มแรกในวันที่ 29 ตุลาคมนี้ ฟีเจอร์ใหม่นอกจากการแก้ไขบั๊กและปรับปรุงด้านเสถียรภาพของระบบตามปกติ ยังมี

Bluetooth 2.1 Feature Pack
เขียนข้อมูลลง Blu-ray ได้จากตัววินโดวส์เอง
Windows Connect Now (WCN) สำหรับการตั้งค่า Wi-Fi ที่สะดวกขึ้น
เปิดใช้ระบบเวลาแบบ UTC สำหรับระบบแฟ้มแบบ exFAT ซึ่งแก้ปัญหาเวลา sync ข้ามเขตเวลา

ส่วนวันที่ออกตัวจริงนั้น Mike Nesh บอกว่าขึ้นกับคุณภาพและผลตอบรับจากผู้ทดลองใช้ ผมเดาว่าอาจจะทันภายในปีนี้นะครับ

ผมว่าดีออกออก SP ทุกครึ่งปีไปเลย ยังไง ถ้าเราไม่ได้อยู่ในองค์กรธุรกิจก็ไม่มีเหตุให้ต้องกังวล อันไหนใหม่อันไหนดียัดมา ๆ อันไหนเก่าล้าสมัยตัดออก ๆ ใครอยากอัพก็อัพไม่อัพก้ไม่ต้องอัพ เลือกตามความจำเป็น
