Instead of c/c++ Language

I search some language that can execute on multiplatform. It must be executable without installing other machine/interpreter anymore (portable).

Python is my main language to develop application, but it not portable.

Now I see some language that has easy readable syntax, more option like python, and can compile on many platforms.

Enjoy it !!!

This is a shame: Thai government paid 10M baht to traslate wikipedia.

The ministry of ICT (MICT) just announced that it paid 10M baht to hire a company to use a traslation to translate all wikipedia page.

Mr. Juti Krailerk, the minister of MICT, said in an interview that he just ordered CAT Telecom, the state owned telecom operator, to hire a company called AsiaOnline to use its software to translate more than 30M articles from wikipedia to Thai language. AsiaOnline which is hosting a advertisements-driven website founded by Bob Hayward, the ex-Gartner analyst. All contents in the web are machine translated from Wikipedia.

In the age of free services such as Google Translation or Yahoo! Bable Fish, why Thai people has to pay 10M to give contents to a private owned company is still unclear. I doubt about Mr. Juti's knowledge in IT as the cabinet once has a minister who not use email himself.

module idea for drupal

module idea for drupal
user can correct some misspelled words in the content they are reading.
Changes are implemented immediately at that user screen.
Changes are submitted to the author for revision.
Changes are officially implemented after author has approved.
user is allowed to correct only some words per paragraph. [to avoid traffic attack]
interface for user to correct a word is done in javascript.
user crop the selected word. User right-clicks, display pop-up menu, and select edit.
the correction is submitted to the author. If the author approved, it is officially corrected. if not, the correction is denied.
user can correct as many words as he/she wants. but excessive corrections would not be submitted to the author. Normal, good-intention, user would not correct as many words as that.
this module’s installation will require the website owner to select the method to store correction request: designated email address, database entry, etc.

CAT announced to sue NTC, hope to pull the plug the auction.

The state owned telecom company CAT Telecom has announced to sue National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in order to stop the forthcoming 3G licenses auction. According to the announcement, the lawsuit will be filed to the Administrative Court on Monday.

This is not a surprise move from CAT, prior to this action, CAT has sent an inquiry to the cabinet to ask if it should file the lawsuit. While the answer from the cabinet is still unclear, CAT insisted to go on. At the NTC's on going event, "3.9G Thailand Human D.N.A.", CAT has been backed off even its exhibition has been 80 percent completed.

CAT is holding two licenses for 3G services already, one for CDMA networks and other for 850MHz HSDPA network. But due to patchy coverage, its market share is considerably low.

Thailand's first 3G network event started.

While the first auction of the third generation mobile networks will be arriving within a few weeks. NTC is trying to induce people to interesting in the 3G technology by held an event called "3.9G Thailand Human D.N.A." at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event target end users particularly and NTC is trying to tell people how it important for Thai people to be able to access 3G technology.

Meanwhile, the auction has been filled with many obstacles, both CAT and TOT are very unhappy about having more competition in the market. CAT's employees union try to sue NTC to block it from held the auction but the complaint rejected by the court. From the users perspective, Thailand never have 3G service prior to this forthcoming auction but, in fact, both TOT and CAT have been awarded the licenses long time ago. Struggled by their own working process, both TOT and CAT just can not improve the network coverage to the usable range. CAT has been developed CDMA network with EVDO technology for awhile but not in the central of Thailand for the network has been operated by Hutch. TOT, on the other hand, deployed the HSDPA network within very limited central of Bangkok. While the network is quite far from being ready, TOT got five companies to act as its' MVNOs in and sale SIM card to user. Most users are not happy with the service and usage rate is very low, many MVNOs are trying to give away the SIM card as of now.

So the auction is the hope for Thai people to be able to access 3G service with a nation-wide coverage. The "3.9G Thailand Human D.N.A." is a starting point for people to aware of its' importance and back NTC to conduct the auction.

Not just 3G, its all about license

3G network in Thailand may not have to wait for this long if both CAT and TOT have not enjoyed the revenues from its franchisees for a long time. Thailand's communication industry use concessions from TOT and CAT to make private companies able to do mobile businesses. The 3G auction is the first time the industry will be shifted from concessions to licenses and paying the government a fixed price instead of revenue sharing.

Keep checking Blognone's english forum, I will update coverages on the auction frequently.
