at the moment we cant access many websites (including my own). I can however ping all websites. even facing faster than usual ssh connection.

The bottom line is dont you all think that the transparent proxies used by ISPs here is doing more damage than good?

one of the 1750 mbps link is down at http://webcorp.asianet.co.th/eh/linkinter/linkstatus.php

aha... its working now.

My staff was on line with true support for 30 mins trying to convince them that everything is fine at our end and their network is screwed up... then i took the phone n told them how come you blame our network when your link status page also shows down, my ssh works faster than normal and ping works. then they put me on hold, made me restart my router... and connection is faster than ever...

moral of the story... if you have a connection problem. stay strong. they will try their best to put the blame on you. in the end you will be moved to a working gateway and your total loss will be ONLY one hour of loss of productivity ;)

The paid service isn't better in the context of stability. I decided to upgrade ADSL package to gain the unlimited Wi-Fi. In the past, I already have connection through DTAC EGPRS which is quite good but too long latency for Linux administration. But working through True Wi-Fi is a nightmare, I lost ssh connection every 10 minutes or so.

I don't sure if this is a issue from True Wi-Fi itself or it's just because I use Wi-Fi in the crowded area like Siam Paragon.

Anyone every tried it in less crowded area?

It's free :)

You could only get two out of three: Cheap, Fast and Good

But in Thailand, you might only get to pick one, since there's less competition.

I am in Koh Phangan using TOT's Maxnet package. My connection has been top notch for as long as I can remember, never had any trouble. Usually its rated about 4300Kbps and it does me nicely but for the last two weeks it has been dropping down to 2100Kbps for long periods and sites outside of Thailand become unavailable?

There is certainly something going on, whether its snooping by the ISP's or the fact that the Thai communication networks really suck.

Considering that Thaksin was the communications mogul and he got the countries networks thus far, I am not holding out much hope of the current crowd of squabbling fools that comprise the Thai government doing much better.

Get used to it, it aint getting better any time soon.
