Dimagi is a socially-conscious technology company that helps organizations deliver quality health care to urban and rural communities across the world. Our team of exceptional physicians, engineers, and programmers apply their experience in global health care delivery and technology development to further personal and public health. In 2011, we are beginning a project in Thailand and the Philippines to develop a text-messaging (SMS) platform using Django/Python to support clinical research and trials in these countries.

We are currently looking to fill a one-year contract position for a field coordinator and Python programmer based in Thailand, with the possibility of follow-up work in subsequent years. This person would be responsible for system deployment, support, and troubleshooting, as well as bug fixing and feature development He or she would coordinate with Dimagi, conduct trainings on the SMS/text messaging platform, and provide translations and input into system design. Previous experience with software development, training, technical support (IT), remote collaboration, or healthcare technologies would be considered an asset.

The candidate must:

  • Be fluent in both spoken and written English and Thai
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Possess a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Have excellent programming skills
  • Be fluent in Python and Linux (Ubuntu)

The ideal candidate would also:

  • Be familiar with Django
  • Be active in the open-source community
  • Possess a background in healthcare or healthcare technologies
