Position: HIS Project Manager (URGENT)

Health information system (HIS) project manager coordinates all activities of HIS implement projects, from readiness assessment and planning through gap analysis, to completion of implementation. The HIS project manager also may have responsibility for managing HIS maintenance and ongoing improvement.
Key Functions and Responsibilities
1. Develop project management plan for HIS implementation to ensure that all details are considered, addressed, evaluated, and managed;
2. Manage and work multiple cross functional team to ensure that deliverables are accorded to the plan;
3. Raise the RED FLAG in case that the team has issues that need to immediately address
4. Plan and Track timeline to ensure that implementation goes smoothly according to the plan
5. Prepare month Steering Committee updates.
6. Assess organization readiness for “Go-Lives” both technical and from the users point of view.
7. Manage timeline for data cleansing and migration.
8. Aid in educating the organization about HIS, and help assess readiness. Where organizational issues, computer skills, or general knowledge about HIS need improvement, work with the organization to correct issues, build skills, and acquire improved understanding.
9. Conduct workflow and process mapping analysis to identify potential functions for the type of HIS support being sought, such as electronic health records (EHR).
10. Review vendor offerings and make recommendations for review of those most suitable for the practice.
11. Coordinate with the vendor to develop an implementation plan for process improvement, chart conversion, installation, data conversion, system build, testing, training, and other aspects of HIS implementation.
12. Oversee the tasks, timelines, and resources necessary to implement the EHR, ensuring that the project stays on time and on budget.
13. Maintain an issues resolution log, escalating issues as appropriate.
14. Assist and track the internal implementation team. Depending on the size of the practice and complexity of the HIS system, this may entail hardware and/or software installation, network set up, system configuration and user preference design, testing, and training.
15. Coordinate all vendor implementation activities.
16. Routinely monitor adoption and use of the HIS and take/recommend corrective action as necessary.
17. Apply updates as applicable, evaluate and recommend upgrades and enhancements, and work with users to develop reports and other uses of HIS data.
Skills/Experience Required
1. Familiarity with health care delivery in general
2. Strong project management and interpersonal skills
3. Good presentation skills
4. Strong project management tools and MS office
5. General understanding of computers and appreciation for information systems theory and design.
6. Analytical skills to identify problems and offer solutions.
7. Political and people skills to effectively manage change.
8. Business acumen and insight into clinical processes.
Recommended Requirements
1. HIS or other equivalent project management experience.
2. Educational background: IT, Health, and any other project management
