The Council of State (Government's Law arm) has ruled in "Decree #343/2549" (Clarification on authority to block inappropriated Internet websites by mean of article 132 of the Criminal Codes: second point) that the Royal Thai Police cannot close a web site nor it may ask for court order to do so because there is no law giving such an authority. The clarification was clear that there is no law empowering such a blockage. Risking themselves against the law, what is the real motive behind Internet censorship?

As we know, The censorship wasn't a trusty way to control the internet. If the authorities bring down their censorship, how should we control an inappropriate content?

How free is your freedom? If you happen to know your kid was looking at a porn site or playing a violent online game, will you take any action to control his/her Internet/Computer access?

If yes, what is the different between it compare to what ICT did to us?

- Should freedom be limited? - Censorship is not the best solution to solve violence contents on the internet, so what should be the proper practice? - Should censorship be remained? - How do the Thai citizens do to get back their freedom of speech?

How do you think about the recently blocking of youtube? If the content is illegal (child porno, phishing, etc.), it should be blocked? - If it should, how? immediately or wait for the court order?
